[Feature Request] Play Music via Mobile Data/VPN + Download Music + German Translation

Thanks for the app. It works very well :)

I have some suggestions.

  1. In my contract I have a lot of data volume. Therefore, I could stream my music directly via mobile data on the go. However, the app only allows streaming via Wi-Fi. Is it possible to add a setting that you can also connect via mobile data and a VPN connection to the server? Maybe a setting to save the server manual?

  2. If point 1 were possible, one could add an option to mark and download individual titles or complete folders? Of course fitting in / home / nemo / music folder :)

  3. and accordingly, when point 1 + 2 goes, play music from the internal memory. Then we have practically an app for everything :) - Then i did not need the Android "DS Music" -App and the Native SF music app ;)

  4. I would like to translate the app to German. Could you add the file to the Translations?

thanks a lot :)

lots of stuff in obs repo

Hello Willem-Jan,

Recently all kinds of qt5 media and systemd packages where added to your obs repo. A version --dup or zypper up will install these packages if your repo is enabled. And I am not sure in what state they are.

I really like your Donnie app, by far the best UPnP player around for Sailfish. So any plans to move the player and related libraries to openrepos and/or the harbour store?

Fails to detect running upnp/dlna servers

I have a notebook with running minidlna and Kodi v17.6 on Linux, which serves music via UPnP/DLNA. There are also 1) a TV with andoriod-based DLNA client and 2) a networked radio Prology WR-200 (UPnP media renderer) in the same home network. Both radio and TV can see and play content from the notebook using minidlna.

My phones (Jolla 1 and Jolla C) both running SFOS 2.2.0.29 () can see the Radio and stream music to its renderer (through the Jupii app). Donnie does detect the radio as a renderer. However, Donnie does not see the servers. Neither Kodi nor minidlna appear in the UPnP scan results!

Kodi has all UPnP service options ON. I turned off the firewall while testing.
In a different home network I managed to detect another instance of Kodi v17.6 as a server but was unable to play any content. The server content browse page in Donnie remained empty or showed endless "wait" loop.

Port scan of the notebook:

Firewall is off:

Jolla Phone running Donnie is in the same subnet:

donnie -v0.7 translation not work

  • translation no work,
I think you need create a es.qm file into the translation folder, i guess that QT_Irelease generate files *.qm . I use sdk-buildengine-terminal then this file create automatically.

[Feature Request] Steam currently running audio stream

Would it be possible to implement a feature like https://github.com/masmu/pulseaudio-dlna, that allows to stream currently running audio stream to the receiver?
Application case is e.g. that I have cutespot (spotify) running on my phone and want to stream it to the receiver. Or I found some podcast while browsing with the phone and instead of download (what is sometimes difficult from the phone depending on the platform where it is published) copying it to the content server would be a significant overhead or require a laptop or desktop PC.

Feature request: Download arbitrary files

My usecase: get pictures from my Sony camera onto the phone.
This app is one of the very few which are actually able to detect and connect to my camera. I can browse there, but can't see or download pictures.
Is it possible to add such a feature?
I do know C++, so I might also be able to help.

aarch64 install?

Any chance of building this so newer versions (>4) of SFOS can run it?

Feature Request: Using Sailfish as Server

Hi. I like your App. Its the only upnp App for SailfishOS to use with my Network Receiver whitch I can seek with. So could you add the possibility to use the Jolla as a Server that I can play songs stored in my Jolla on my Receiver? I know Jupii can do it. But with this app seeking is not supported.
