data_step's Issues

Can't build book (no data files present in the repo)

Cannot find the data files for the book. Are they in the repo?

In the short term, we can just upload the data files. It would probably be better to put them in their own folder, but then we'll have to update the code.

The better solution may be to make a non-CRAN package that contains all the data files that people can download and use with the book (a la Statistical Rethinking). @btskinner can do that, but needs the data.

Chapter 1: Git/Github instructions

The class is structured around the idea of a set of code files that are ready to use. Should we have them clone/fork the book? A separate repo that's structured for the book? Haven't thought this all the way through. Should see what Wickham actually says about this.

Preface (index)

First pass at preface, index.Rmd, rewrite (in index_dev branch):

View() command

It's helpful to use View a lot, but it doesn't knit (at least I don't know how to make that happen). In class I just comment/uncomment but that doesn't seem like a good solution.
