Tech stack

We are using Gatsby as the static site generator. The only requirement on your machine is yarn.

You can start the project on machine by cloning it and running the following commands:

Correction in the French version

Hello,
I asked a French native speaker to give his opinion about the French version of the website. He said there are a few grammatical errors that need to be fixed. Also, he gave some general comments. I list all of them here:

• "[C'était une Iranienne de 22 ans qui est décédée après avoir été arrêtée] pour ne pas avoir porté le hijab approprié." = for not wearing the appropriate hijab. is this what is meant? or not worn the hijab in an appropriate way instead?
• "pourquoi nous manifesterions aujourd'hui" is "why we would protest today", not sure it's the intended tense
• "Le gouvernement iranien tente de réprimer les manifestations, tirant à balles réelles sur les manifestants, déployant des gaz lacrymogènes et des canons à eau et bloquant l'accès à Internet" -> "Le gouvernement iranien tente de réprimer les manifestations, en tirant à balles réelles sur les manifestants, en déployant des gaz lacrymogènes et des canons à eau et en bloquant l'accès à Internet -> the first draft is correct, but adding 'en' makes it better imo
• "le droit de choisir comment elles s'habillent" is featured twice in the list
• [Le droit de demander le divorce] et d'être de pouvoir avoir la garde de ses enfants -> remove d'être
• TLe droit de quitter son pays sans l'autorisation de son mari -> remove t
• also, minor but there is a switch between 'ils' and 'elles', maybe it's intended, and in that case ok, but from a pure grammar nazi perspective it's not perfect

Idea: An anonymous sharing platform

Hey folks,
Not sure how feasible it is, but it is an idea that originated from someone currently in Iran.

Issue:
People cannot create a new account on Twitter or log in to their Telegram account because they cannot receive the SMS with the code.
Many people have videos, images, or things to say, but they cannot find a safe platform to share them.

Idea:

1. Have a platform where people can share text, images, and videos.
2. People can upvote/downvote the contents, this way we can have some kind of crowd validation.
3. Users don't need to create an account, instead, they will have a new username every time they open a new session.
4. The platform can be based on a kind of Blockchain or Tor so that it's not easy to filter (I personally have no idea about this part)
5. The platform can be open-source so people can trust the platform to use.

This is all that we had in mind. Let's discuss how feasible it is and if so, how can we progress

Non-main branch push access?

Hi @syavash, I'm working on Issue #4, but it seems that I don't have unprotected branch push access to this repo. I've tried git with both HTTP & SSH access. Is this a permission that I need to be given manually?

Otherwise it may be an issue on my side.

Add protests (day-by-day) timeline

Guys, I know it's not an issue and sounds more like a new feature but since we already have this repository I thought it makes more sense to just add a new entry to cover the timeline of the protest.

The idea is very simple. From the first date that Mahsa got hospitalised to today all important events should be listed and displayed on a time line.
The feature contains two main part. Implementing the timeline and compiling the information. I am now investigating the libraries to come up with a quick simple solution so we will be able to kick it off soon. Please let me know your ideas.

`useSiteMetadata` error when running development server locally

Hi,

When I run yarn develop, and try to hit http://localhost:8000, I see the following error (screenshot) from within ./node_modules. Any ideas how to solve this?

I think I can implement some parts of the inner pages with flutter and add them to the main page. do you think so?

How to Get Involved

A lot of people are wondering how they could get involved so I think we should add a section for petitions, this is how we are going to integrate our cause on a political level. People need a place where they can access all the correct petitions.

I don't think this is what protestors asking for.

Protestors are asking this criminal regime to go. For all the human rights they denied and all murderers and crimes they've done.

Protestors are not only asking for "the right to choose how they dress." they want a "Secular and Democratic" political system with a whole different structure.

People are not getting killed only for "The right to sing or dance."

Thanks for this project btw, but please be clear in this section and include different aspects of these protests, and don't just focus on a single subject.

Alignment for the image

I would suggest either aligning the text with the image( CENTER TEXT) or bring down the text to the same level as the bottom of the image. Currently its off centered.

Latest Articles

Regarding the articles section we can either add the logo of the news channels that have shared the stories or we can use the headlines. Ideally we don't add boxes as it looks cleaner and more refined.

Idea: have a secion on website for followers of twitter: to create a sense of empathy

I got the idea from the website Ultrasoundmoney, which is related to Ethereum, and I think it will work well for the conditions of Iran.
The goal: is to create a sense of empathy between Twitter followers and a voice between people.
My suggestion is that these two emojis
