I'm writing a Dockerfile to generate a qloapps/hotelcommerce image that only contains the application itself instead of App+Database like the one provided in the website. While rearranging the apt-gets into a separated RUN instruction to allow for caching of that section of the installation process, I've stumbled with a line that adds this PPA "ppa:ondrej/php" which downloads a custom version of PHP different of the one provided by the Ubuntu maintainers.

Is there an specific reason why that is required or could I just run it with the Ubuntu-provided package?

Starting up with docker compose seems to not work at all. It mostly seems to be about the ssh service crashing and this in turn crashing the entire app.

Will post logs here if I get some response that this is actively maintained

I would like to expose internal storage outside of the container using compose so that I can access the files use by the containers from the host where the container is running.

Having them accessible on the host I can backup those files and have them in case if for some reason container cannot start.

Also it would be easier to upgrade the container much easier by just pointing to new image.

So far I have tested this docker compose configuration. But I cannot access the files due to permissions issue in the container.

Any idea how can I get this working would be appreciated ?
