The program keeps crashing whenever I try to create splashscreen.
I generated icons/splashScreens
phonegap mainly for iOS
Is any ready-made config.xml point to the generated icon files ...?
Seems like your pipeline goes though some lossy format like JPG. This results in bad quality png output.
Generating an image set for iOS is missing the contents.json file so the images are unassigned within Xcode. The only fix I can see is to drag and drop the relevant images on to the required formats to create the contents.json file.
Uploading a 2048x2048 PNG as instructed generates an iOS package without any splash screens listed.
Hi!
I used your wonderful tool to generate icons:
https://apetools.webprofusion.com/app/#/tools/imagegorilla
However, it's really difficult if I have to manually write every single path to all these icons in my config.xml. Could you add the option to give us some text that we can copy and paste in our config.xml?
Cheers!
Check the sizes here -
http://iconhandbook.co.uk/reference/chart/android/
Looks like one icon size is wrong and needs to be corrected.
Apetools don't generate splash screen files to new Apple devices.
Maybe the recommended image upload dimensions should be set to 2436x2436.
I can implement that if thats ok.

a greeting and thanks for the web!
Great automation tool! I used the website to auto generate all the image files but was wondering about how to implement in a progressive web app, PWA?
In other words, I'm thinking I need a set of CSS rules / media queries but I don't see that in the repo or website. ...Is this something you would support?
Thanks!
A splashimage is not cut out from the center to the outside as its claimed in the description.
Instead its cutting from the middle but filling the remaining space with the images top left colour.
The algo should not do that but instead cut just from the center half of the target images size to each side.
Hi there,
it seems like in your latest release the splashscreens are the same images as the logos. Splashscreen upload seems to be ignored.
Hi Thanks for this tools.
Please provide sample PSD or AI file to know punch area.
I also suggest to provide old version online too because for me new version generate wrong splash image ๐
There are no generated splash screen for these two screen sizes.
iphone Xs Max: 1242x2688, iphone XR: 828x1792.
could you please add them ?
The icons and splash screens that are being generated by apetools do not match all the required assets in Ionic 5. For example:
\android\app\src\main\res\mipmap-mdpi contains three files:
ic_launcher.png (72x 72pixels)
ic_launcher_foreground.png (108 x 108 pixels)
ic_launcher_round.png (48 x 48 pixels)
And none these are present in the files generated by apetools. I did find some matching files by comparing resolutions such as
\android\app\src\main\res\drawable\splash.png can use
bundle\ionic\resources\android\splash\drawable-land-mdpi-screen.png
Can you
(a) Add the additional files, and
(b) Point me to a resource that matches files generated by apetools to files in the App res directories? (or confirm there is none such and I will start a document that begins to document that?)
I generated the files on the website: https://apetools.webprofusion.com/#/tools/imagegorilla I assume the git version will do the same.
TIA
Does this work anymore I've tried using this several times and it just spins forever on processing.
It did work about a month ago
The landscape pictures are generated as portrait and vice versa on the output on Ionic (iOS).

Hi all,
my application need two icons that are missing in web generated icon packets.
They are the Apple Tv Icons in 1x(1920x1080) and in 2x(3840x2160).
Can you add them?
Final Zip file is not in line with the project structure for apps created by Ionic CLI. Also,
it misses the "drawable-port" files which inturns gives error while running an app.
Thanks for the tool. It would be nice to have the ability to specify the generated filename - e.g. "splash.png" instead of "screen.png".
Splash screen background color change is not working.
Splashscreens should size to fit the available area of the output (such as 800x480) and maintain their aspect ratio. Currently aspect ratio is maintained but some orientations are not centred/fitted.
If user provides a gradient coloured icon, splashscreens look ugly
The icon generated with this file name is twice the size that is expected.
Expected: 167x167
Actual: 334x334
possible cause: name is not consistent with other similar icons.

Hi, when I upload a 4096x4096 png with a background color and a logo on it. The logo contains no border. Then when I generate both Android or iOS splash screens, a black border is shown around the logo.
