Babel support for the Latin language

The babel-latin package is the Latin language module of babel, a TeX/LaTeX package for language-specific typography.

The latest stable version is available on CTAN: https://ctan.org/pkg/babel-latin

Run make tex to get the files needed by TeX (four ldf files and one lua file).

Run make manual to get the manual as PDF file.

Run make ctan to create a ZIP archive for CTAN upload.

Liturgicallatin versus latinHyphenation

What are the differences (besides the punctuation) between the hyphenation lists liturgicallatin and latin? I understand that the thin space is introduced around double punctuation when using liturgical latin. But are the lists different in a significant way? I don't have too much trouble at the moment, but I'm not sure if there's a reason to prefer liturgicallatin other than the spacing, since texts copied from the psalter meant for singing are hyphenated differently than ones copied from the missal and from Scripture (even though they are sung and not recited in the context of the Divine Office or even at solemn Mass, whereas they are also frequently simply read at Mass), one example being "o-mnes" versus "om-nes" (where, in the former case, the line is frequently adjusted to avoid a single word-initial vowel at the end of a line. Ditto for a division such as "me-us".)

I have two issues (questions, not bugs per se), so my apologies for the double posts. I'm working with Gregorio to produce chant books. There are at least some words where I prefer "J" or "j" to "I" and "i" or vice-versa; the historical Solesmes books use "Alleluia" but use "j" for every other use.

When I run this code, nothing changes from what is typed. When I remove usej, it is the same. Am I missing something about how the package works? (I am running TexLive2021 with MacTeX on my machine, which was giving me fits over =, so I can double-check the babel packages when I get back to it, but in Overleaf, I get the same results.

I'm not entirely sure in what direction to go with this letter, but knowing how usej is supposed to work will help me a lot.
