idiomatic-css's Issues

How we should order the css properties?

We started to discuss it on slack but we can continue here.

Slack discuss history:

@thijsBreker: (And personally I reverse the order of the box-model list)

@rafaellyra: I like alphabetical order cause I learned when I was child and I don’t need to learn nothing more to follow :smile:

@thijsBreker :

margin: 10px;
    border: 10px solid #333;
    padding: 10px;
    width: 100px;
    height: 100px;

@thijsBreker :

Alphabetical makes no sense to me :disappointed: I like following the box model

Should we use camelCase or hyphen-separated css classes?

I think that as is hard to find a css code styleguide using camelCase, and most open source projects (font-icons, grids) use hyphens (-) we should follow the hyphens rule.

  1. Our current css is camelCase (we can refactor just the code that we change or add)
  2. It is more consistent when you are using pseudo-elements:
.myElement:first-child {
    ...
}

.my-element:first-child {
    ...
}

disclaimer: please don't hate me for it :(
