Utility to retry a command until succeed.

Usage

usage: retry.py [-h] [--max_attempts MAX_ATTEMPTS]
                [--timeout_seconds TIMEOUT_SECONDS]
                [--interval_seconds INTERVAL_SECONDS]
                -- command [command ...]

positional arguments:
  command               The command to be retried.

optional arguments:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  --max_attempts MAX_ATTEMPTS
                        The maximum number of attempts before giving up.
  --timeout_seconds TIMEOUT_SECONDS
                        The timeout, in second, for each run.
  --interval_seconds INTERVAL_SECONDS
                        The interval, in second, after a failed run.

Examples

./retry.py --max_attempts=10 -- false
./retry.py --max_attempts=10 --timeout_seconds=5 -- sleep 10

retry's Issues

Command piping does not work

Steps to reproduce:

$ ./retry.py -- echo "hello" | cat
hello
Running commands:  echo hello
Max # of attempts: 1024 times
Failed interval:   1 seconds

========== Attempt 1 Start ==========
Running: echo hello
STDOUT:
========== Attempt 1 Finished ==========
Return code: 0

Expected: Run echo hello | cat
Actual: Run echo hello
