I'm trying to run r23319 on my Ubuntu 23.10, but I'm getting a segfault.

My OS is fully up-to-date.

While running the dependencies installation package libgles2-mesa fails to install (it doesn't exist), but Package libgles2-mesa-dev exists (it's a transitional package)

While starting obs, I get "Impossible to load the shared object, because the file or folder doesn't exist" for these:

I am new to containers and such, I have no idea what to do when this part of the readme asks me to "Put any .so files in obs-plugins/64bit"

How do I get to this folder? Is there a guide I should read somewhere?

I installed this via the ujust install-obs-studio-portable script pre-included in Bazzite OS. I can't find the script in the source files for my life but this is what's in my /usr/share/ublue-os/just/30-distrobox.just file:

On line 15, a sentence ends abruptly. I assume it should say something along the line of "executables, plugins and configurations.".

So, I downloaded everything and followed all the instructions to install, but it will not install for me on Ubuntu 23.04. Has anyone been able to install portable on 23.04, and am I missing a step from that is outside of the instructions?

It would be great to have a dockerized version.

Im using obs-portable 30.0.2. Running on Linux Ubuntu.

I want to start using the steam app, Stream Avatar. The application is deigned for windows, but thanks to steams proton compatibility layer I'm able to run the app on Linux .

The youtube guide I watch to setup the app instructs users to use the GameCapture source and enable the 'Allow Alpha' option.

The issue: On Linux the GameCapture doesn't do much, it wont even allow you to select a window. and there's no 'Allow Alpha' option. I tried experimenting with a view other sources and filters but couldn't get it to work correctly.
I can apply an alpha mask but it applies it to the entire app window instead of just the black background.

Request: Add an Alternative Option for 'Allow Alpha' in GameCapture Source for Linux through the Window Capture OR other workaround.

Need help resolving XCB error:

Started happening once I started using the streaming service integrations and custom docks. I read through the READ.me and it suggested running the command:
env QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb ./obs-portable

I did this but still got no luck, I get the same error.
As the Read.me says, the error goes away if I select xorg when logging in. I prefer to use the KDE desktop env and so would prefer a solution like the command above.

Might anyone know why I'm still getting the error despite running env QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb ./obs-portable in terminal? And a possible fix.

Im the owner of an Nvidia GTX 650, which does not support dedicated hardware encoding on newer versions of OBS ( anything past version 27 ).

I am aware that there is a release of obs-studio-portable for ubuntu that uses version 27 and brings some of the plugins. Still, version 27 doesnt support all of the plugin I require, like Vertical Canvas.

Recently a dev has created a version of OBS studio Version 30 that supports dedicated hardware encoding for Keplers GPUs (GTX 600 series).

Request: Would it be possible to create a release of this repo using his version OBS to allow folks like me to still gain the benefit of OBS-portable + plugin AND still allows us to use hardware encoding on our old GPUs?

I installed r23365 locally (in userspace) on an up-to-date Pop! OS 22.04 LTS system using the tarball yesterday. It runs, but when I run it from the command line and then close it a few minutes after opening, I see messages like:

That seems a tad excessive... but I don't know much about what to expect. Maybe that's... normal? (I don't think so: After a crash, it started up asking if I wanted to continue in "safe mode", and if I'm in "safe mode" there are zero leaks.)

If not, is there a good way to determine which plugins -- or other elements -- are causing the leaks?

Uppon testing obs-vocallocal plugin. I was unable to test further as when I add localvocal as filter obs crashes on Wayland without any sign just exits, on X11 with message
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
I am using the obs-portable distrobox solution and I only have an AMD radeon rx6600

Added plugin to the nobara obs as well manually, had same issue. Issue might be upstream.

• Downloaded the release for ubuntu 23.10 from github.
• untar => ok.
• sudo ./obs-dependencies.
• There it couldn't find and install package "libgles2-mesa"
• I checked if it existed with "sudo apt list libgles2-mesa". It only found "libgles2-mesa-dev". Did install it but that didn't change anything afterwards, so removed it.
• "./obs-portable"
  I got this error message:
  "./obs: error while loading shared libraries: libmbedtls.so.14: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
• I installed "sudo apt install libmbedtls14" (libmbedtls.so.14 does not exist).
• "./obs-portable"
  I got a window about "Background removal - Update available", and another one named "Error" saying "Failed to create audio streaming encoder (simple output)". OBS did not load after that.
