Smoothing and fitting algorithms should store original points

Store the original points fed to the smoothing/fitting process so that the results can be reproduced.

Currently, this is done by copying the whole object to a new variable. It would be more ideal if original points were retained within the original object e.g.:

$ [[1]]
.. $ x : active x
.. $ y : active y
.. $ xlab
.. $ ylab
.. $ active.source : origin | smooth | fit.<fitmodel>
.. $ origin
.. .. $ x : original x
.. .. $ y : original y
.. $ smooth
.. .. $ call
.. .. $ x : input x
.. .. $ y : input y
.. $ fit.<fitmodel>
.. .. $ call
.. .. $ x : input x
.. .. $ y : input y
.. .. $ gof

vector of colors to plot() colors points and not whole trend

It is expected that:

plot(X, col=1:length(X))

will color all points in each subplot in the grid a different color by subplot. Instead, the points within the data within each subplot are colored by point.

Change so that a vector of colors can be supplied. This will help identify similar wells (based on annotation) much easier.
