I ran in to the same (or similar) issue.
Following the instructions I created this:
var concat = require('concat-stream'),
cc = concat(reverse);
process.stdin.pipe(cc);
function reverse(data){
process.stdout.write(data.toString().split('').reverse().join(''));
}
but it would fail because my response had a weird 'null' value at the end of the result which I'm still not sure where it was coming from.
I found this post when trying to figure out what I was doing wrong and so tried:
var concat = require('concat-stream'),
cc = concat(reverse);
process.stdin.pipe(cc);
function reverse(data){
console.log(data.toString().split('').reverse().join(''));
}
and it passes leaving me confused.

OK, Why would adding a newline to the end of my result pass?
This passes:
var concat = require('concat-stream'),
cc = concat(reverse);
process.stdin.pipe(cc);
function reverse(data){
process.stdout.write(data.toString().split('').reverse().join('')+'\n');
}
but I don't understand why? Is it common practice to end everything in a newline?

concat-stream is just a readable stream, not a writable stream. This particular adventure not only teaches how to use concat-stream but also teaches that you don't always need a stream. Sometimes you should just console.log()
.

concat-stream is just a writable stream.
I had to look up the docs for concat-stream to know that. The whole time I was trying to pipe
to process.stdout
but instead I should just write to if from the concat-stream callback.
