I would like to tweak a little bit dark theme so with default values of dark mode in .ini file it would be faster.

In the entry dialog, there is some kind of dark shadow just behind the text indicating password strength which annoys reading (as you can see on the screenshot).

Would it be possible to remove it and/or to set the text to be black to increase contrast and improve reading confort?

When using in Unix environment with Mono, KeeTheme broke columns overflow control.

Normally if column text is too long it is just cut and add "..." to end, but with KeeTheme enabled it just tries to wrap text to multiple lines and it look very ugly.

Thanks for a wonderful plugin! Works like magic for me.

It would be very nice, though, if is was possible to make it sync with Windows 10 global theme instead of having to press Ctrl+T. Many apps support that already, and it's very convenient when using a 3rd party app that allows to set a global shortcut for quickly changing the system theme. On my system it already works with:

• Firefox (Dark Reader);
• IntelliJ IDEA (plugin needed);
• Total Commander;
• Thunderbird (doesn't change email background, though);
• WhatsApp;
• Telegram.

I know that this list has nothing to do with KeePass, but imagine what it would like to switch the theme in all of these (and I normally have all of them open) one-by-one every time the sun shines in my window. So it's just here to illustrate how useful it is when every app switches automatically with just a single global shortcut.

Could you please look into the CTRL-T shortcut because it overlaps with the keetrayTOTP plugin?

Get-BinRoot is going to be deprecated in v1 and removed in v2. It has been replaced with Get-ToolsLocation (starting with v0.9.10), however many packages no longer require a special separate directory since package folders no longer have versions on them. Some do though and should continue to use Get-ToolsLocation.

Also, I wish I had known Chocolatey was going to install keepass itself as a dependency. I already have a portable version of keepass elsewhere... I suppose it doesn't make a lot of sense for the Chocolatey install option to work with a portable install, but I wish the installation instructions had mentioned that it installs a new keepass instance.

Tested with KeePass 2.48.1 on Windows 10 Home (German language) on Light Theme.
When enabling Auto-sync with Windows 10 theme in options Tools -> Options... -> KeeTheme, I get an InvalidCastException error when I have Windows Light Theme enabled. This is shown on every start of KeePass, too, leading to the plugin being disabled by KeePass:

It works, when I switch to Windows 10 Dark Theme but stops working again when switching to Light Theme (I use Light Theme by day and Dark Theme by night).

With KeeTheme 0.9.0 and using a KeeTheme.ini, a selected node in an inactive treeview is barely visible as the font color and background of the selection are almost the same shade of light grey. I found no equivlane tini parameter to define a color for inactive SelectionColor and SelectionBackColor.

Without a KeeTheme.ini (default KeeTheme Dark mode) the selected node retains the light grey font color and blueish background color, just losing the dotted frame around the active node. So it is still well readable.

I'm so sorry if this is not the correct place to post this. I found the correct place an hour ago but for the life of me I cannot find it again!

I am having difficulty with DarkTheme.ini. I download the .ini template file here. Then I made a few changes to the colors on the tree view. (at least I believe it's where I'm supposed to make them.) I've left everything else alone. I put the DarkTheme.ini into the Plugins folder for KeePass. I don't see any change whatsoever.

Is there something else I need to be doing? Messing with it for over an hour lol

When I have the dark theme enabled, all icons in the entry list are cut off from the right and bottom side. I assume that this is related to Windows display scaling. When I set the high DPI scaling override to System (Enhanced), this problem doesn't occur.

When using DarkTheme.plgx in the plugins folder, an incompatibility error appears on the screen, screenshot below.

When using DarkTheme.dll however, it works without any hiccups.

KeePass users using KeeTheme and e. g. my Alternate Auto-Type plugin will experience ListView groups not being themed properly.
This happens if the ListView's handle is changed after ListViewHeaderPainter and ListViewGroupsPainter have been instantiated.

Alternate Auto-Type allows the user to sort entries in the Auto-Type entry selection window by making the column headers clickable. Changing the HeaderStyle property seems to create a new ListView Handle

Now that this plugin has an Options page, you should see if rookiestyle would be willing to share his code for sub-pages, to reduce the number of pages in the Options dialog - and perhaps you should also move the enabling toggle to the Options page.

Using V0.6.2, when I restart KeyPass, it does not remember that I had a theme selected, so I have to reselect it (with -T or through the menu) after every restart.

First, allow me to say that I love the work you have put into this plug-in. The Wiki page is also invaluable to a novice like me. I followed all the steps and played around with the colors, but have 3 stubborn issues that I can't figure out. I'm hoping you can help. In the attached picture I've numbered them and circled the areas of issue. I've also included my .ini file

1. When NOT selected, the background (highlight) color of database name turns white.
2. The row of column headers won't change to the color I've inputted in the .ini. In this case, it is dark green and only the end of the row gets colored.
3. This is the one that's most problematic....When selecting a row in the ListView box, the first word (in this case the title) has black text, which is unreadable with a dark background. I've altogether given up on getting alternating row colors to stick, but that's superficial in comparison to the unreadable black text.

While using the KPEnhancedEntryView plugin, the dark theme leaves white fields.
If I switch back to normal (white) mode, the attachment field is still black.

After upgrade to v.8.0.0 produce error on startup no db unlock possible. If I delete plugin plgx all working as normal.

I know KeeTheme works because it works on my home system.
At work, however, I get an unhandled exception error

Hello again, found a new small bug related to columns.

Hello, this is not an issue in itself. Just an suggestion. I see you have in your repo 3 Plugins today already. Would be nice to have a auto update feature for this primary security applications plugins from trusted source. The sha hash of PLRGX can be verified by installation automatically optionally if specified. For the lazy ones :) and to fix incompatibility issue with future of keepass with plugin by getting all in one place for example.

I don't know if you have the spare time to maintain in parallel the "packages". Which basically would contains a script to URL of github latest release asset.

There are many plugins and packages count is growing.

Perhaps for the day, this goes out of "Pre-release"? While in current version so far it works very well anyway.

The font is grey and hardly readable. Please color them white and enlarge it.

When using KeeResize extension, in dark mode the resized windows disappear. Add entry or edit entry resizing does it.

With enabled default dark mode the size of the background boxes are different.
Note:

• Only on selected items
• Only on elements with " & "

When using KeeTheme with KeePass, passwords that have the '&' character do not show up on the password preview screen and instead underline the next character.

If I use CTRL + T and revert to the light theme the issue no longer happens.

Both in "DarkenKP" and "Dark Mode But Better v1" buttons in the advanced tab of entry edit window are barely readable (black text on dark background):

I want to create a theme but there are over 100 different selectors of buttons, selectors, gradients, etc. Is there an easy way of knowing what each is?

When using the default Dark Theme, the workspace background is white after locking the workspace.

The background is correctly colored on startup and when opening a database, but the bug occurs when manually locking the workspace (e.g. via Ctrl + L). However it switches back to dark after entering the password.

I'm using custom background colours to highlight certain entries in my database. I was glad when I found this Plugin, since KeePass didn't look great on my Linux Mint 20 System.
So maybe this is just an incompatibility with running KeePass on Linux, but the Dark theme also hides all my custom background colours. I have added a screenshot comparing the regular look and the look with the dark theme enabled:

Hi, just noticed that the attachment viewer for rtf and txt files looks diferent with the dark theme on, in terms of size of the box.
Also the text color function is not working for rtf files with dark theme.

First of all: thank you very much for creating this plugin. I am someone who wants night mode for EVERYTHING, so I was so grateful to see someone creating a theme plugin for KeePass2. :)

I currently have an issue with the "Notes" in my entries.

The Notes are shown in dark theme and in light theme but I can't seem to edit or see them whenever I open the entry. (I added screenshots)

This is way I see my entry in DarkMode.

And here is the way I see it in LightMode.

You can clearly see that I added notes to the entry, but when I open the entry up:

The notes seem to have vanished and I can't click in the Notes box.

But in LightMode it works again:

So I've noticed the Wiki is empty and redirects me to the root of KeeTheme, I don't know if it's possible for Users to create Pull Requests to the Wiki otherwise I would have already.

I created a sample of what I'd expect the documentation could look like. I'm offering to create the bulk of the Documentation (for free) with your permission. Unless you already have plans or other feelings on this matter. Theres still lots of items in the sample that I can't figure out what they do. For example:

Can we get TextColor =, TextSize = and TextFont = supported?
Or maybe defined how CSS has them TextColor, FontSize and FontFamily

I suggest FontFamily be used to point to ttf file inside the plugin's folder, or KeeTheme checks if the font is installed on the machine.

Also side-suggestion that would help in the future but not really important enough I'd want to make it's own issue.
can we get a reload hotkey. At the moment I am customizing my theme and I have to click CTRL+T twice to get it to unload-reload to get the new changes. Any way to make it instant or a single hotkey?

Hi, first of all great plugin for Keepass!
I just wanted to inform I found what I think is a bug which is, when you rearrange columns from the list view, every column works fine except the first one (Title). If, for example, I move the UserName col to first position on the table, both UserName col and Title col occupy the same space and are on top of each other, making it impossible to use it this way. Other than that, everything looks nice.
