This is my probably impossibly broken fork of @holman's dotfiles. Here's some instructions because I never remember what to do:
Hop into System Preferences and ensure everything is turned on.
- Install Xcode Developer tools:
xcode-select --install
- Grab the repo and run it:
git clone https://github.com/Pe8er/dotfiles.git ~/.dotfiles; cd ~/.dotfiles; script/bootstrap
.
This installs:
- System and app preferences.
- Homebrew.
- Apps.
As soon as Dropbox is installed, launch it and start the sync.
Launch and activate to enable PowerPack.
- Preferences > Sync > Enable iCloud.
- Preferences > Advanced > Enable 3rd party integrations.
- Enable Junk mail filtering.
- Enable signatures.
- Enable rules.
- Download from App Store.
- Sign into fucking iCloud and generate the fucking app-specific password.
- Download and run.
- Enable Things Cloud.
- Check:
- Quick Entry shortcuts (Ctrl + ~ and Ctrl + Esc)
- Calendar events.
- Reminders.
- Download from App Store.
- Sign into Feedly.
- Increase article font size to 20.
Wait for it⦠especially:
- AppleScripts.
- App preferences and data (Alfred, The Clock etc).
Run osascript ~/Dropbox/Library/Scripts/Tools/Replace\ Home\ Folders.scpt
.
- Change shortcut to
β₯ + Tab
. - Set theme.
- Enable clipboard history.
- Enable 1Password.
Restore backup from iCloud.
- Run
~/.dotfiles/script/bootstrap
again. - Run
~/.dotfiles/macos/set-defaults.sh
. - Modify screenshot shortcuts.
- Sync Hazel rules from Dropbox.
- Enable Polish dictionaries in Dictionary.app.
- Run
~/.dotfiles/macos/set-defaults.sh
again.
