im not sure what could be causing it but yesterday i loaded up bbzero and got this error:

and now i can't run bbinterface at all

It seems there's a memory leak somewhere in bbZero. It starts off by using up ~11 MB of RAM and to some other people will stay between 10 MB and 34 MB of usage. I get a normal usage once it starts, but give it a few days and I get close to 100 MB, which is abnormal.

I change workspaces all the time, and I made an AutoHotKey script I'm running to manage wallpapers between workspaces. It might be completely unrelated to the memory hog problem, but thought I'd mention it. I change wallpapers through bsetbg -full path\to\file.png.

Restarting the shell through the menu option (Blackbox > Restart) doesn't fix it. To get to normal usage again, I have to quit the shell and start it again, which is a huge annoyance.

Leave your mouse highlighted over something so a windows tooltip draws in, then use bbkeys to change your workspace. Shadows of tooltips remain rendered across all workspaces. A common bug with workspace managers, and easily reproduced. I use the current build, installed as shell.

Here's an example displayed with tooltips in cs5.

I'll note that manually killing blackbox.exe and restarting it via task manager removes it.

Just noticed this after accidentally clicking the Explorer menu entry, the explorer taskbar would pop up and go into a sort of loop (opening and closing) not sure if its because bb is trying to kill it and its being reopened or some sort of other bug.

Weirdly enough it seemed to be attempting to place "Start menu" in the bar as a running task as if it was any other program. Possible bug when also having Classic Shell installed?

The only way to stop the loop (as attempting to kill explorer or classic shell does nothing) is to CTRL+ALT+DEL and log out.

This does not happen when double-clicking Start or Desktop to bring up the filemanager.

bbleanskin does not work properly with aero on.
you cannot turn off aero on win 8 and therefore it applies most in win 8.

bbleanbar (i think) has a button to show/hide the system tray.
It would be nice to expand that to an autohide feature

When I run FL studio for extended periods of time the left half of BlackBoxBar goes black and I need to hard restart bbZero to get it working again.
With hard restart I mean that I have to quit blackbox and restart it via task manager.

some parts of those are not in sync. that being said, my separators are black on black if i set separatorstyle to flat and grey when i set it to bevel

I attempted to clone my settings from the previous build into 1.18 and the plugin has become unstable and crashes blackbox. In addition to not being able to edit settings via the default context menu of ctrl+clicking, the quick launch bar I have created loads properly, then vanishes and becomes a blank empty square. Clicking on it will crash blackbox. I attempted this when blackbox.exe was installed as shell. Special menus (like folders) load in a blocking fashion.
That means they are a) not abortable and b) if they point to a virtual share which might not be available and susceptible to timeout or c) a large folder they take fucking forever to either show 'invalid path' or enumerate their contents.

That has annoyed me forever and totally kills responsiveness when i have to steer my mouse around that 'dead network share' or alike.

Not much to say here, I like to have my icons in a particular order so being able to reorder them with the mouse, instead of moving them around between workspaces would be a really nice enhancement.

BlackBoxBar runs into an issue similar to #31 after resuming from a suspend.
A soft restart sometimes fixes it, but in the cases it doesn't I need to do a hard restart.
Running Windows 7 Ultimate, theme patched, Japanese locale and time format.

When you enable UTF-8 Encoding via the menu option as normal, the ???'s for Kanji and other symbols turns into "î, í, ü" (etc) and is converted incorrectly on all plugins and displays. I suspect the implementation of "bbDrawText" may be the culprit, and it may be forcing blackbox to double encode text. This holds true for both being installed as a shell and having explorer as a shell.

NVIDIA has a GPU activity notification tray icon which allows you to see if a program is running on your discreet GPU.
This is important to me because I need to see if certain programs are running on my discreet GPU and not on my Intel APU. This is mainly needed for people running dual GPU laptops like me. I don't know if the non-primus driver even supports this.
The plugin is located at C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Update Core\NvGFTrayPlugin.dll and C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Update Core\NvGFTrayPluginr.dll

On Windows 8 bbZero currently "hides" the native way of changing wifi networks and possibly other applets.
We should investigate and either find a way to invoke the applets or re-implement their features.

Even with Configuration -> Menus -> Always On Top unchecked a newly created tearoff menu occasionally remains always on top. This happens maybe 1 in 20 times or so and interestingly causes all its child tearoffs to also be always on top.

There are several issues with bbleanbar which could all be fixed in a drunken night.

• Currently the files are organized like crap. There's no headers and the main cpp includes the other cpps.
• bbLeanBar uses some shady mechanism to buffer gradients or something. Needs to be undone
• there are features in the other bars not found in bbleanbar. I suggest merging them all into bbZeroBar

After exiting bb (crash or no crash) and starting it again, sometimes some windows (or all? not sure) do not show up in bbLeanBar/workspace menu.

I guess that it has problems with registering already open 32bit windows, but can't be bothered to check right now.

Pete is persistent with desire of having split mirrors and gradients.

installer should incorporate the msvc redistributables that are sometimes needed. it should detect if already installed (if possible) and install if not.

why not upload binaries to the releases page here on github? i went over to blackbox4windows but the binaries are behind a login and my account is still pending.

the less barriers to adoption the better chances of keeping bb alive on windows :)

Icons go through the shell api, so they all use the normal windows loader. It takes about 10-100ms to load an icon first the first time, afterwards they get cached.

20 links in a folder take about 2 seconds to appear.." I remembered afterward that I usually disable icons in menu...

I was going to report this but was never sure how to formulate, I only noticed that if I load explorer as "shell" tray seem faster than in bb.

set as shell / do not set as shell is dummy and does not work

• SystembarEx has an issue with Win7 system tray icons (power, volume, wireless, action center, etc), their menu doesn't appear or in the case of action center it shows on the top left angle of the screen.
