VSCode AEM Sync

An extention for Visual Studio Code that allows AEM Developer to sync their code updates smoothly.

You can sync not only files also .content.xml, dialog.xml, etc., can be synced by just one click.

This sync feature is ported from AEM Brackets Extension.

How to use

1. Open your AEM project on Visual Studio Code

2. Right-click on a file or a folder in Explorer or Editor, and you can choose those two import and export options:

• Export to AEM Server
• Import from AEM Server

If auto-push feature is enabled, Export to AEM Server is executed automatically, when you save.

vscode-aem-sync's Issues

Cannot establish a connection to server http://localhost:4502 EPIPE

Getting the below error and selectively exporting a folder
Failed to export: Error: Unable to push content for : Cannot establish a connection to server http://localhost:4502: EPIPE.

Sync doesn't work under ui.content directory

Plugin works great with files under ui.apps, but not with files under ui.content.

I am able to see the sync options but nothing happens when I click them.

Hi, I`m getting this error when I try to export my new content to server :
Failed to export: \apps\wknd\components\fedi-ben-contact Error: Unable to push content for c:\Users\fedi.benguirat\Desktop\projects\aem-local\aem-guides-wknd\ui.apps\src\main\content\jcr_root\apps\wknd\components\fedi-ben-contact: Cannot establish a connection to server http://localhost:4502: ECONNREFUSED.

My component is located under : \apps\wknd\components\

any thoughts?

Sync to server stopped working

Sync to server stopped working. message is:

Failed to export: /apps/platform-prod-eng/components/content/.../_cq_dialog/.content.xml Error: Unable to push content for /Users/.../Documents/AEM/Projects/PlatformProdEng/jcr_root/apps/platform-prod-eng/components/content/.../_cq_dialog/.content.xml: TypeError: callback.apply is not a function

Multiple vulnerabilities Found in Repository

Hello Team.

I hope you are doing well. I am reaching out to inform you of a critical security matter. After cloning the repository, I have identified several vulnerabilities across multiple dependencies. These issues range in severity.

Key Vulnerabilities identified:

Improper Input Validation [Critical Severity][https://security.snyk.io/vuln/SNYK-JS-XMLDOM-3092935] in [email protected]

Upgrading these dependencies will not only resolve the current vulnerabilities but will also enhance the overall security posture of the project.

Feature Request - Is it possible to log the progress/steps to the Terminal or Output view?

[Feature-Request]: Option to add custom shortcuts to export/import

Possibility for the user to set custom shortcuts for the "Export to AEM" and "Import from AEM" actions. It should affect the currently selected/ open file in the editor pane.

This would allow the user to quickly sync changes in one specific file which he has recently updated or saved.

Currently the autopush/autosync feature exists but I want to remain in control which files are getting synced by manually triggering it.

Unable to sync policies from Server.

Tried to sync from local to repo to pull policies under ui.content but only getting failed to import.

Is it possible to delete remote files before syncing?

Syncing feature works great, however when I save it doesn't delete the remote file, so it merges properties and nodes. In order to get the sync to work I need to delete the remote node, then publish. Is this possible?
