final slides

Final slider content. We had planned on using slides that showed the faces of Alive & Free. If we're going to do that, we need those final images. Yesterday there was a proposal to use the slider as outlined below. So we need a final plan for the slider -- how it will be used, how many slides there will be and the final content (text, image and link) for each. Please work with Kwan.

New proposal:

slide 1: introducing the new Alive & Free (content needed)
slides 2-5: sub brands: OBC, SSR, Consortium, TI
slide 6: join the movement or donate?

Consortium Page

Dario - do you want to tackle the Consortium Page? We need a better solution, like the one we discussed. A table with an expanding section for the map? What do you need to make this happen?

CTA's

The top CTA's need a transition on click and hover. They are too static right now. Suggestions?

The buttons look nice...but the colors need to be from the style guide (not canned):

Migrate Audio

Audio: formats include .mp3, .ra, .ram and .swf

You'll need to determine which files should be migrated and which require conversion.

MP3 files can be included in the new site -- you can work with Kwan to determine which of these should be moved. I know he had a question about branding, b/c the audio files say "Omega Boys Club" instead of Alive & Free.

The other formats require conversion. Kwan can use Zamzar.com to convert these to mp3.

redirection and SEO

Redirection and SEO for Omega Boys Club. Kwan will include "Omega Boys Club" in the final SEO. Please work with Kwan to create a spreadsheet that maps how all existing URLS will be directed to new URLS.

Problem with Event Categories

When looking at an individual Event, a link to the Event Category is provided. It loads a page but the content is hidden.

Youth Page

A Youth page -- content needs to be outlined and added, including: testimonials (from existing website and reports) and youth-specific links (such as "get help"). Please work with Kwan.

What do you think about a slant graphic extending off the right of the sidebar? As long as the titles are short and don't go to two lines on smaller screens, this should work?

we said it would be like mobile, so you put sidebars at the bottom. but this is looking weird still.

the sidebar @ bottom needs to either:

1. be full width

2. use the mobile sidebar

Why don't we move the social icons to the footer? There is plenty of room.

Then we can evaluate what's up with the primary menu...if it's OK as is or we need to go back to the mobile button.

Empty sidebars?

As with #10 do you have any idea of what happened with the widgets that were in the sidebar? If they were removed intensionally or if there was a bug.

Final determination on Videos

which should migrate? contact videographer to export as 1024X768 HTML5

Video: videos are in a variety of formats -- .wmv .mpg .swf and .flv

The majority (including the link you sent) are .swf files (Flash video). The files are unable to be easily converted to a contemporary format.

While it is possible to include the .wmv and .mpg videos on the new site (like the .swf and .flv files) they are also at such a low resolution (due to the resolution of the "old" street-soldiers.org site) that converting them from the files that I have makes little sense.

Unfortunately the files are 320X240 and 640X480 swf files. They need to be HTML5 videos -- 1024X768

Conversion of batches of multimedia files was not included in our contract. This requires the skills of an audio/video editor.

So it appears that you will need to:

1. determine which videos you want to migrate
2. work with whomever created these files to export them in HTML5 and at a resolution of 1024X768

Another option might be trying to upload the videos to YouTube -- it's possible that the conversion could happen automatically there. But, as per above, in order for this to be worthwhile, you'd need to do that with videos at a higher resolution.

These are the media files from the "old" site -- they are on the DropBox. Video files are in the "media" folder. The audio files are in the "sound" folder (one is in the "podcast" folder):

Hello all,

If there's anyone working on the project, please create a branch with your name and make sure you commit only to that branch, once you think an issue is fixed submit a pull request so it will be integrated into master.

Also please try to stick to one issue at a time and claim it assigning it to yourself, or to the person that should do it, this will avoid future problems stepping over each others toes.

One last thing, if you are working on an issue that's not in the list, please create an issue and assign it to yourself so someone else doesn't start working on it to avoid conflict and loss of man hours / work.

center footer menu for mobile and tablet?

I updated styles/templates using the bootstrap responsive classes.

One issue that remains is making the footer menu centered for mobile and portrait tablet. I think I had this working, but now it's not. Reminds me of the same issue you had with the primary nav. Any ideas?

Introducing Alive & Free Ribbon

We are good with the proposal to introduce the redesign/rebrand with a ribbon in the corner.

Clicking on the ribbon will open up a lightbox.

The content for the lightbox is coming soon. Lorem Ipsum for now is fine.

Dynamic Org Chart

This is a stretch goal, but hoping it's possible. Client has approved the dynamic org chart, so now we just have to build it. Content is pulled (and truncated) from each page. This gets embedded in the Programs overview page

• create a final backup of the theme and db

slider not proofed and not working correctly

i created 2 more cpt's -- there is a problem with the dashboard:

also the slider controls are not really working. navigation buttons appear for a split second only when transitioning from one slide to the next.

there should also be manual controls for advancing the slide (navigation dots?)

finally, the slides do not link to the URL specified - there is no tag:
