gcdwebserver's Introduction

Swift Package of GCDWebServer

based on swisspol/GCDWebServer.

GCDWebServer is a modern and lightweight GCD based HTTP 1.1 server designed to be embedded in iOS, macOS & tvOS apps.

Using it

  1. Open File > Add Package
  2. Paste the URL into top right search https://github.com/yene/GCDWebServer
  3. Extend your project, for example start the server in your didFinishLaunchingWithOptions
import UIKit
import GCDWebServer

@main
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {
  let webServer = GCDWebServer()

  func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]?) -> Bool {
    webServer.addDefaultHandler(forMethod: "GET", request: GCDWebServerRequest.self, processBlock: {request in
      return GCDWebServerDataResponse(html:"<html><body><p>Hello World</p></body></html>")
    })
    webServer.start(withPort: 8080, bonjourName: "GCD Web Server")
    print("Visit \(webServer.serverURL) in your web browser")
    return true
  }
  // ...
}

Serving Static Directory

Drag the folder containing your html files into the Xcode project. In this example the folder is called dist and has an index.html file inside.

During development make sure to disable cache.

import UIKit
import GCDWebServer

@main
class AppDelegate: UIResponder, UIApplicationDelegate {
	let webServer = GCDWebServer()

	func application(_ application: UIApplication, didFinishLaunchingWithOptions launchOptions: [UIApplication.LaunchOptionsKey: Any]?) -> Bool {

		let subdir = Bundle.main.resourceURL!.appendingPathComponent("dist").path
		webServer.addGETHandler(forBasePath: "/", directoryPath: subdir, indexFilename: "index.html", cacheAge: 3600, allowRangeRequests: true)
		webServer.start(withPort: 8080, bonjourName: "GCD Web Server")
		print("Visit \(webServer.serverURL) in your web browser")
		return true
	}
  // ...
}

gcdwebserver's Issues

Privacy Manifest, the privacy report of a SDK will not be displayed

Thank you always for your quick response.

1
I checked that Privacy Manifest was included, but it seems that the results of the archive are not included in the Privacy Report.

289769661-30d7379e-ee26-4a2d-8800-98b7ea3fc69e When I check the library file, Privacy Manifest exists in 'ZIPFoundation' and 'GCDWebServer', but only 'ZIPFoundation' exists in Privacy Report.

Privacy Manifest API

Hi @yene, Happy New Year.

I was looking up other libraries about Privacy Manifest.

But I have a question here.

Describing use of required reason API

Apple lists various APIs in the document above.

I looked it up and it seems like there is an API that GCDWebServer also uses, so I opened Isues again.

I may be wrong, but I hope we can work it out together

I might be wrong, so I've prepared the location I found and screen capture.

There could be more or it could be updated, but could you check the contents below first??

File timestamp APIs - creationDate
Found in 'GCDWebServerFileRequest' file

File timestamp APIs - modificationDate
File timestamp APIs - fileModificationDate

Found in 'GCDWebServerFileRequest' file
I didn't know whether NSFileModificationDate was modificationDate or fileModificationDate, so I checked both.. It needs to be checked.
Untitled

File timestamp APIs - lstat
Found in 'GCDWebServerFileResponse' file

Fix compile-time warning

Line 51 of GCDWebServerFunctions.m causes a compile time warning. To fix this, change the line to

void GCDWebServerInitializeFunctions(void) {

Privacy Manifest

@yene

Hello. I am developing Swift/iOS in South Korea.

I'm using the 'Swift Package of GCDWeb Server' you created so well. Thanks to you, a lot of difficulties have been solved.

However, the main project of GCDWebServer has already been suspended, and Apple's policy has been changed.

https://developer.apple.com/documentation/bundleresources/privacy_manifest_files

Could you please add and update the contents related to Privacy Manifest from the library you forked??

Once again, thank you for your hard work.

Read Apple docs, which say:

From Fall 2023 you’ll receive an email from Apple if you upload an app to App Store Connect that uses required reason API without describing the reason in its privacy manifest file. From Spring 2024, apps that don’t describe their use of required reason API in their privacy manifest file won’t be accepted by App Store Connect.

Does it support iOS 15??

It was confirmed that the actual terminal iOS 15.6.1 (iPhone7) was running.

I tested iOS15.0 (iPhone6s, iPhone7, iPhone13) through the Xcode simulator, but the web does not run, so I am leaving a question.
