Expected result:
All characters, including spaces and other whitespace are tallied in the character count.

Actual result:
count-word only counts alphanumeric characters, not spaces, in the character count.

Hey, just so you know:

I installed Count Word on Atom 1.54 today.

The first document I tried to count words on, the Word Count pop-up window could not be closed and I could not return to the document to resume editing. I tried clicking the mesage window, I tried clicking the background, and I tried the ESC key. Nothing would dismiss it and let me go back to Atom.

Finally, I tried CTRL+SHIFT+W, and that crashed Atom.

Uninstalling “count-word” failed.Hide output…
Failed to delete count-word: Does not exist

Yet it clearly does exist.

Is anyone else having this problem? How does one close the overlay?

I just opened a new document, pasted this below and it counted to 3, ignoring the white space!

Now, you can only see the count for a currently open document. Please make it possible to see a whole project's word/line/character count.
