auto-ovpn's Issues

No connection change after starting Gnome extension in Kali 4.13

Hi There - Installed all apt's and Gnome extension (Kali 4.13) but no change in IP/location once extension is started. Do I need to sign up with a VPN service and somehow link it? A bit newer to Linux/Kali, Im used to running VPNs on Windows via VPN service providers - Im sure Im missing something here, sorry for the dummy questions...

freeze system on slow vpn server

I use Ubuntu 17.04 Gnome 3.24
The extension work fine with JP, US server
With filter set to RU (mid night GMT), whole gnome shell freeze

openvpn3 support

I'm working in an organization which uses openvpn3 and it seems that auto-vpn plugin doesn't support openvpn3 client.

I've briefly looked into the code and as far as I understand auto-vpn plugin uses network manager via nmcli to manage vpn connections. The plugin doesn't work with openvpn3 client since it is not yet integrated with NetworkManager as stated in OpenVPN/openvpn3-linux#46

OpenVPN 3 Linux does currently not have a direct integration with NetworkManager.

Any plans for openvpn3 support?

Improvement: check for disconnections

As suggested by user "DorianGrey" in the Auto-OVPN webpage's comments:

"Could you add a feature that disconnects your network if the VPN drops and gives a notification? This is sometimes called a killswitch. It keeps data from accidentally being leaked and would make this extension perfect!"

merge extensions possible collaboration

@yomun

I really like this extension it has alot of potential really good job i was wondering if you would like to merge one of my extensions with this as i think they would integrate well and also would work well together my extension is called IP finder I’m currently working on my other extension which is called Arc menu let me know if this is something which would interest you.

edit you can also use my flag icons as your current icons are not rendering correctly (they are oversized) on gnome-shell i haven’t looked at the source code yet so apologies if its something your aware of:+1:

tested on:
gnome-shell 3.18
ubuntu 16.04

kind regards - LinxGem33
