I found that you are a python and abaqus user as well.
It's very convenient to use mpl to plot figures directly in abaqus' python environment, because it avoid export odb data to files.
I found a method to put mpl module in abaqus' python environment on Windows platform, find the method on github: matplotlib-4-abaqus.
But this method has some issue on Linux platform Solid-Mechanics/matplotlib-4-abaqus#2 and still not been solved.
If you are interested in using mpl in abaqus, you can check it out and maybe will find out the solution.
