libarchive.jl's Issues

Tag a new release

Master works (with deprecation warnings) on 0.7. It would be great if a new release could be tagged so that this work was available without cloning the package.

Discoverability

Please edit the GitHub project description (currently "Wrapper for libarchive") to be something like: "Wrapper for libarchive (gz, gzip, tar, pax, cpio, zip, xar, lha, ar, cab, mtree, rar, ISO)".

The GitHub project description shows up here : http://pkg.julialang.org and makes it easier to discover that this package knows about zip, tar, etc...

Info about upcoming removal of packages in the General registry

As described in https://discourse.julialang.org/t/ann-plans-for-removing-packages-that-do-not-yet-support-1-0-from-the-general-registry/ we are planning on removing packages that do not support 1.0 from the General registry. This package has been detected to not support 1.0 and is thus slated to be removed. The removal of packages from the registry will happen approximately a month after this issue is open.

To transition to the new Pkg system using Project.toml, see https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/Registrator.jl#transitioning-from-require-to-projecttoml.
To then tag a new version of the package, see https://github.com/JuliaRegistries/Registrator.jl#via-the-github-app.

If you believe this package has erroneously been detected as not supporting 1.0 or have any other questions, don't hesitate to discuss it here or in the thread linked at the top of this post.

Uncompress a LZMA file and get a IOStream

Hello,

this file http://www.dukascopy.com/datafeed/EURUSD/2016/02/14/20h_ticks.bi5
is a LZMA compressed file.

I'd like to be able to uncompress it using Julia
see https://github.com/femtotrader/DataReaders.jl/issues/14

I would like to have a IOStream of uncompressed file

According https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/julia-users/G9Pqe5svS3c
LibArchive.jl could help to achieve this task

fh = open("20h_ticks.bi5")
...

Any help will be nice.

Kind regards
