Hi.
I've enabled this repo just a week ago, and I could be wrong, but it looks like the repository information metadata is refreshing and updating after each successful build.
This means that if a single kf5-* package is built sucessfuly, then it will trigger an update to anyone using zawertun/kde copr. Update a single package from a major release can potentially break the whole KDE (desktop, applications or frameworks) installation.
My suggestion is that Copr repository metadata should be refreshed only after all the packages of the update are built successfully so that when someone is updating its system it doesn't lead to version inconsistencies, and update the system only when every package for an update is compiled and ready for update
Hi,
Just went to update applications on this F31 box and dnf reports "nothing provides kmail >= 20.04 needed by kontact-20.04.0-1.fc31.x86_64"
Hi, first off, thanks for this copr repo.
I noticed if I use the google drive feature of Dolphin, kio-gdrive gives me this error:
In the terminal dolphin shows this:
kf5.kio.core: couldn't create slave: "klauncher said: Error loading '/usr/lib64/qt5/plugins/kf5/kio/gdrive.so'."
Maybe add it to the copr repo and see if that fixes it?
Hi,
i can see there are packages for fc33, but the latest for fc32 is still 5.19.x
Would you mind checking if the build is enabled for fc32?
A question for kwinft: Any recommendations for kwinft on x11 at the moment?
(esp. in comparison to the kwin-lowlatency?)
Or would you regard this as still 'experimental'?
I get the following errors when doing dnf update today. I think it's something to do with this update: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-1571a44ff7 (but i'm not sure)
sudo dnf update

I noticed that there is no user feedback setting in plasma settings in your copr build. Is this because it isn't built? If so, does this mean it's disabled?
Hi,
i suppose you are using your copr for your machine as well :-)
There is a problem report i'm facing: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401088
(reboot, login:
plasma hangs for several seconds (~20 secs)
when it's finally loaded, the message is displayed in notifications popup:
Filesystem mounted at '/' is not responding)
Do you have any idea how to get a grip on this bug? Very annoying
Hope you can help
I'm running Fedora 30 x86_64 fully updated.
System got updated to plasma 5.16.2.
dnf list installed | grep 5.15
Doesn't show anything
dnf list installed | grep 5.16
shows packages coming from repo @zawertun-kde
However when I try:
dnf install --allowerasing kwin-lowlatency
it wants to downgrade plasma in order to install kwin-lowlatency
I don't think this is expected?
With the release of Plasma 5.17, plasma-thunderbolt is now available [1]
[1] https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/ptoscano/plasma-thunderbolt/
After doing:
dnf copr enable zawertun/kde
dnf -y update --refresh
it downloads the plasma-workspace 5.19.5-1.fc32
package from the Copr and not the 5.20 one.
This is on Fedora 32.
Any ideas what could be the issue?
Hi,
this happens when i switch to a virtual terminal (ctrl-alt-F2, for example)
As long as the X11 is hidden (vterm on F1) one core goes to 100% for the kwin_x11 process. Going back to graphical gui (ctrl-alt F1) and all is fine again. Easily reproducible
Ever encountered such a thing?
(maybe i should mention i am using an older nvidia card with the nouveau driver on this system)
And... (no, i don't want to push you :)
any progress on the dependencies problem when trying to install kwinft for fedora33/plasma5.20?
In Fedora 31 with testing repos enabled, kwin_x11 is broken currently:
It crashes with the following message:
kwin_x11: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libkwin.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZNK10NETWinInfo15gtkFrameExtentsEv

Just a question:
is it ok for you that i report those bugs here, or would you prefer them in the kde bugtracker? I mean, thanks a lot for your (nearly immediate!) help, but i don't want to bother you with all this over and over again... ?
Dolphin in the regular fedora repos has "share" option in the right click menu of a file, with options to share to imgur, kdeconnect device, etc. The build in your copr repo is missing this option. Apparently it uses something called "purpose" which is part of kf5. https://phabricator.kde.org/D13124
Hi,
Just wanted to point out that a new version of wrapland just came out, and with this release 2 new tools (forked tools) Disman & KDisplay.
You can see the full release blog post here :
https://subdiff.org/blog/2020/wrapland-redone
Thanks for keeping this copr up to date and thanks for re-adding the _GTK_FRAME_EXTENTS patch :)
Installed Qt 5.12.4 packages from Fedora 30 updates-testing (F30 is currently on Qt 5.12.1).
Expected behavior: boots to SDDM and KDE as normal.
Actual behavior: booting process freezes before login screen.
Further notes: Tried Plasma 5.16.2 packages from another COPR repo that appear to have been compiled against Qt 5.12.4, and they work without incident.
Hi, I found the real reason behind #18 .
If you reinstall this copr, which ends up reinstalling kf5-kwindowsystem, and you use Fedora 31 with updates-testing repo, it installs kf5-kwindowsystem without the GTK_FRAME_EXTENTS patch resulting in broken kwin. That's the reason why kwin crashed with "kwin_x11: symbol lookup error: /lib64/libkwin.so.5: undefined symbol: _ZNK10NETWinInfo15gtkFrameExtentsEv".
You can fix it by doing: sudo dnf reinstall --disablerepo updates-testing kf5-kwindowsystem
Maybe put this in the copr repo notes?
Hi,
I have had a notification for some kf5 package updates from Fedora's repos.
Are some packages missing from your 5.66 update.
kf5-krunner
kf5-attica
kf5-kfilemetadata
I think also there was an update to kaccounts-providers for some Google issues, but not for the Gmail issues.
Just rebuilt packages kf5-kwindowsystem
and kwin-lowlatency
with patches from https://github.com/zzag/arch-kwin-gtk-frame-extents (not published yet).
After this patch Gnome apps with CSD (Client Side Decorations) will get normal titles,
that's how gnome-calculator looks after patch:
Some testing required. @luminoso could you test it?

Hello,
I just tested new version of Digikam 7.1 (not in official Fedora repo): works well, thanks.
However it is not possible to play videos.
Could you add media player support ?
I think that in the spec, "DENABLE_MEDIAPLAYER" must be "ON" and/or qtav-devel dependencies must be added ?
thanks
Getting this error on a freshly updated system, trying to install from your copr repo the first time: Error: Transaction check error:

Not sure where to start looking, but I think it might just be a packaging issue.
Logout doesn't work properly on my system any more, a black screen with only the cursor remains.
I found that after some reboots, klauncher always seems to crash when logging out.
I'm running Plasma 5.20, kwin-lowlatency, proprietary NVIDIA drivers and latest Fedora 33 with all testing updates installed.
In the .xsession-errors file, the following appears:
klauncher: Exiting on signal 15
XIO: fatal IO error 4 on X server ":0"
after 130185 requests (130185 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
Application::crashHandler() called with signal 11; recent crashes: 1
malloc_consolidate(): unaligned fastbin chunk detected
XIO: fatal IO error 9 (Invalid file descriptor) on X server ":0"
after 25 requests (25 known processed) with 0 events remaining.
KCrash: Application '<unknown>' crashing...
Running
qdbus org.kde.ksmserver /KSMServer logout 0 0 0
Does not help, I end up with a black screen and only cursor there.
However:
Running
loginctl terminate-user $USER
Does make KDE exit correctly.
I put this command in a logout script and it successfully works around the issue, logout is relieable now.
Do you think the logout freeze might have to do with this klauncher freeze or is it related to something else?
Hi,
i opened a bugticket here

Very strange behaviour of kate, because it only affects the 2nd screen.
Your opinion?

hello,
Here are several versions that I install your plasma/kde updates without too much problem.
Since the latest versions of kde/plasma under fedora32 and the latest under fedora 33 beta, I have lost the detection of the HDMI port connected to my nvidia 1050TI graphics card.
Unable to enable hdmi port when I connect the screen, it is detected and then gets old a few seconds later.

Hi,
im trying to edit window rules, e.g. by selecting "configure special windows settings" on the window titlebar. Expected result would be the rule-editor, but nothing happens.
So, i tried calling this instead:
kcmshell5 kcm_kwinrules
then adding a new entry or editing an existing entry, which gives a better error message:
QQmlComponent: Component is not ready "file:///usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_kwinrules/contents/ui/RulesEditor.qml" "Error loading QML file.\n42: Type RuleItemDelegate unavailable\n63: Type OptionsComboBox unavailable\n32: \"QQC2.ComboBox.valueRole\" is not available due to component versioning.\n" QCoreApplication::postEvent: Unexpected null receiver QQmlComponent: Component is not ready "file:///usr/share/kpackage/kcms/kcm_kwinrules/contents/ui/RulesEditor.qml" "Error loading QML file.\n42: Type RuleItemDelegate unavailable\n63: Type OptionsComboBox unavailable\n32: \"QQC2.ComboBox.valueRole\" is not available due to component versioning.\n" QCoreApplication::postEvent: Unexpected null receiver
Is this something caused by the new plasma 5.19 release you can fix or is this a general plasma problem?
(i also have this problem still pending in bugtracker: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=421178
is this related to zawertun repos?)
Any help is appreciated

Caused by this update: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2020-cb72ecb134 (which will soon land in the stable repos)
kf5-ktexteditor needs to be rebuilt to work with new libgit2. Currently, I can't update libgit2 because of kf5-ktexteditor.
I noticed there is a new version update/bump for kf5-knewstuff and kf5-kirigami2 in updates-testing.
Just FYI this version of knewstuff will break some widgets, like weather.
As we all know it is not good to mix repo's

Hi,
this is more a question, but still annoying:
I don't want the file indexer start indexing my files, and i don't want it to index usb-attached drives.
In systemsettings > file-search i put in one rule:
'not indexed' for my /home/username directory.
Moreover, i disabled
[ ] enable file search
[ ] also index file content
[ ] index hidden files and folders
Still, after some time, the default directories like downloads, documents, pictures, .... are reappearing with 'full file indexing'
When setting these to 'not indexed', then some time later i have additional entries indicating 'full file indexing' again (what gives two entries for every default folder, one with, one without indexing)
Same is true for external drives - can we stop indexing them somehow? (i can tell by the flashing led on an external drive that someone is accessing it constantly)
And this is very annoying (i don't want it, just keep quiet.... and there's no option for that?)
Any help how to disable this, maybe by disabling a service?
(for me, this is the least wanted feature of any desktop environment, i know where my files are!)
Hi,
i (accidentially) used the meta-tab shortcut which brings up the activity switcher (similar to task-switcher, but containing only one - the default- activity)
Problem ist, it (the newly drawn sidebar) won't go away?
The only option is to log-out and re-login again, a 'kwin_x11 --replace &' also won't help
Then i decided to get rid of the shortcut assignment in systemsettings5 > workspace behavior > activities > Tab: switching.
There you can reassign or just disable the shortcuts, but i would expect the 'apply' button to become active after a change. Instead, the reassignment works instantly, no apply needed (and, no going back to the previous state, obviously)
any ideas how to fix that?
there is a bugticket already here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=422957
Any chance Zanshin[1] can be added to the build list. See an older spec file [2]
[1] https://github.com/KDE/zanshin/releases
[2] https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/zanshin/blob/master/f/zanshin.spec
Looking at the spec, I cannot tell if kde-coonect in this repo built with bluetooth support. Can you clarify? If it is not it looks like it can be enabled by installing a certain framework package.
Thanks
Is there any chance you can add kde education applications[1] to the builds. Specifically, I am thinking about ktouch, kbibtex, and marble.
