old-zero-to-mastery-website's Issues

Python projects

I work on Python programming language and I want to projects I can contribute related to Python but all about javascript

Project of the Month Idea - Create Group Projects Page

Create the group project page, so that the following possible ideas can be implemented:

  • Card/Box section for each open source project available
  • Searchable list
  • Use JSON files to create the cards/boxes dynamically
  • Getting started section/FAQ

Could we use the Github API, to include some cool stats such as contributor and PR counts

Project of the Month Idea - Course Page

Create a course page, with the following suggested sections

  • Cards/Boxes for each course, perhaps with a modal popup for more information
  • Reviews/Testimonies
  • Sample video

<script> in the middle of the code

Hey, shouldn't the "<script src="assets/js/script.js"></script>" be in the bottom of the ?
It's now somewhere in the middle of the code and I've been wondering why it's sitting there :)

Wrong github links

At testimonials section,
Rohail Agneshius and Lauren R. Github links are wrong, pointing to Martin Comito's Github. I would correct them, but I don't have the right links.
Also, the "R." in Lauren's name is a little odd, can we get her full surname? :) Thanks!

Performance and accessibility of the website

Upon auditing the website with lighthouse (auditing tool in chrome dev tools), I found that the load time can be improved a lot. There are a lot of static elements present on the main page that can be cached to improve load times and accessibility can be improved.

There are vulnerabilities present in the dependencies and many of the assets are served using HTTP/1.1 instead of using HTTP/2

Note: Audit was done in Desktop and Mobile mode with no throttling. Mobile mode performance is worse than Desktop mode.

Add about section on the website

The zero-to-mastery website is the home for the entire series Andrei created. But there is no way to know so for any person landing on the website the link to which may or may not be public.

As a user, I want to be able to figure out what zero-to-mastery is just by looking at it.

Proposed solution: Instead of adding this info on the carousel, add a hero image and add the info there. And more detailed info in a dedicated tab on the top appropriately named About

Link zero-to-mastery/resources repo to the website

The website currently has a resources section but we have a resources repo present with many more number of resources. It would be nice if they could be merged or integrated somehow. This will help others to look at just one place for all the resources.
