Minimal iOS prototype for Ricoh GR connection experiments.
- Discover and connect to a Ricoh/Pentax BLE camera.
- Wake the camera, switch it to playback mode, and enable WLAN AP mode through known GR BLE characteristics.
- Read camera Wi-Fi SSID and passphrase when the camera exposes them over BLE.
- Join the camera Wi-Fi with
NEHotspotConfigurationManager. - Fetch
/v1/photosfromhttp://192.168.0.1/v1, load thumbnails, and save original JPG/DNG/MOV files to Photos. - Send basic shutter requests over BLE or Wi-Fi.
- Open
GRBridge.xcodeproj. - Set a real development team on the
GRBridgetarget. - Ensure the App ID/provisioning profile includes the Hotspot Configuration capability.
- Run on a physical iPhone. Bluetooth and hotspot joining are not meaningfully testable in Simulator.
- Tap
Scan, select the camera, thenConnect. - Tap
Wake. - If SSID/passphrase are empty, enter the values shown by the camera.
- Tap
Join, thenLoad.
The BLE UUIDs are based on the unofficial Ricoh GR Bluetooth API notes. The Wi-Fi HTTP calls follow the reverse-engineered Ricoh wireless protocol surface at http://192.168.0.1/v1.
This prototype deliberately avoids background download, Live Activity, pairing persistence, and robust reconnection. Those should be added only after the foreground path is verified against the target camera and firmware.
