Repository for the ADMB Project website.

The ADMB Project website is hosted on GitHub pages. It is uses the Jekyll engine to transform easy-to-read markdown files into static web pages.

Directory Structure

_layouts/

Contains the web page outer layouts default.html and post.html for markdown content files.

_posts/

Contains news items. Each filename has the format YYYY-MM-DD-TYPE.md where possible TYPE values are workshop, release or course.

community/

Contains the bibliography. Also, list the applications, users and univerisities that use ADMB.

courses/

Contains all of the ADMB related courses.

developers/

Contains the developers information such as workshops, coding standards and procedures.

downloads/

Contains information for ADMB release downloads.

images/

Contains the website images.

news/

Contains page to layout news items into a single page.

support-letters/

Contains the Ricker award support letters for Dr. David Fournier.

tools/

Contains information on tools to use with ADMB.

users/

Contains user contributed files.

api/

Contains ADMB source code reference.

buildbot/

Redirects to ADMB buildbot site for testing of ADMB source code.

examples/

Redirects to site containing ADMB examples.

Website Standards

Since Jekyll does not support symlinks, use redirects instead.

2016 Developer Workshop Report Missing

The link downloads the report by Kasper and Anders on tiny_ad. It certainly is not the workshop report. Furthermore there is not link to the workshop itself.

Tiny AD

The development of the tiny_ad by Kasper and Anders is a very useful step. I would like to see their report formatted a bit better, perhaps using the ADMB latex package, and posted with the Manuals.

I have been trying to make some changes to the website. My fork https://github.com/johnrsibert/admb-project.github.io does not serve the pages in the sidebar correctly. It is really difficult to edit on line. The jekyll software seems really buggy. How is this better than WordPress? Am I the only person who finds github an awkward platform for websites?

Current list of publications citing ADMB

The webpage

lists around 170 publications using ADMB. However, it is hard work to update this list and it contains no papers published after 2013...

A better solution would probably to provide a link to Google Scholar, which keeps track of all publications citing ADMB,

Previous courses - missing material and information

The webpage

presents a list of previous ADMB/TMB courses, but the list is missing some course material (files) and information.

For example, clicking on March 2009 results in a 404 error. The same is true for July 2009, August 2009, and July 2010.

An older page, http://admb-project-org.admb-foundation.org/events/previous/march-2009, provides links to material (files). The older page also provides additional information, for example, that the workshop took place in Santa Barbara.

Hopefully, the previous courses can be successfully transferred to the new website. The older page, http://admb-project-org.admb-foundation.org/events/previous, lists all the venues upfront, which is helpful.

Add counters for admb-ide

GCC & GDB - missing material

The ADMB website had a collection of GCC and GDB for Windows, as zip files:

These are missing from the new website.

Missing testing_memory_inputs_summary.jpg

The benchmark page

has an empty gap where testing_memory_inputs_summary.jpg is supposed to be.

seem to be missing from the new website. These things were meant to be useful for ADMB users, so it was probably the intention to migrate this to the new website.
