The current repo misses a .gitignore file which muddles git status command. I have added the file with some relevant additions for python as well as some custom ones for generated C files, which are generated after running the make command.

Shall send a pull request.

@aschein I think it would be easier to run the code if there is a small sample data included or the format of the data is mentioned.

I am getting the following error when I try to run the file run_pdgs.py:

$ python run_pgds.py 
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "run_pgds.py", line 11, in <module>

    from impute import init_missing_data
ImportError: No module named impute

I think you forgot to add in this file.
