This would be difficult to do as the index topic contains the only logical link between the discourse post and the docs page. Do you think this is an important usability feature?

I do think it's an important feature, and has come up more than a couple of times in conversations with various people, e.g., with @jameinel today. But I can see how it would be hard to implement. Not sure what to say.

I'm interested in this feature as well. The Discourse post usually shows up higher on search results and a button to go to the docs website would be helpful as its easier to read and follow the content there, without distractions.
It's also cleaner from a Support perspective to send a Doc link, rather than a forum post, if one exists for that topic.
