that's the one footnote I couldn't really get rid of. any idea how to include this information without a footnote?

Get the line chart labels into the chart area.

We'll do this by assigning anchor points and text alignment, then plotting labels to the chart like a scatter chart

the "return to article" link in the footnotes should actually be parsed out by bigfoot. used to work in my instance, so I guess it's related to jade. couldn't figure it out, though.

If you load the page, then change the user generated chart, both lines change colors for some reason...looks to be somthing with the data binding but I'm not sure

Only noticed this now: What do we do about the disputed part of Western Sahara, which is not a country (therefore has no data), but is a shape of its own (thus appears white)?

do you have a standard way to implement fallbacks for charts? I thought about adding an image for each chart in the DOM that gets overwritten once the chart loads.

Should we perhaps hide the map footnote on mobile, where it is almost as big as the map itself? Users might assume that's the end of the article and not scroll beyond.

Incorporate the FM calls so that the hashes from the custom chart get passed through

You said you've messed up the tooltips, didn't you @yanofsky? I couldn't find anything that changed from my version.

There are, however, two possible improvements.

• show tooltips in more accurate positions (and not, e.g. between alaska and the rest of the US). I'm told we would need a topojson with country center points.
• during animation, tooltips currently vanish when the year changes.

Unfortunately, I'd need your help with both improvements.

Could you have a look at this @yanofsky? Made sure js and styling for bigfoot are in place, but $.bigfoot(); just won't execute properly.
