copy-as-rtf-tmbundle's Introduction

Copy as RTF TextMate bundle

Need to copy + paste some text and keep the syntax highlighting?

Yes you do. All the time. For Keynote presentations. And probably other reasons.

Install this bundle, and after selecting some pretty syntax highlighted text, use Ctrl+Alt+Cmd+R to copy it as RTF (rich text format) Now you can paste it directly into Keynote presentations. And other places where RTF is supported.

Installation

mkdir -p ~/Library/Application\ Support/TextMate/Bundles
cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/TextMate/Bundles
git clone git://github.com/drnic/copy-as-rtf-tmbundle.git "Copy as RTF.tmbundle"

Inside TextMate, click "Reload Bundles."

Credit

This bundle was created by Max Muermann

Its now hosted on github by Dr Nic Williams so it can live on.

copy-as-rtf-tmbundle's Issues

Foreground color is ignored

The foreground color is being ignored when using the Blackboard theme, so the text is copied as black instead of white.

I'm using the latest commit (e490dbf).

Doesn't work in TextMate 2

The update to Mavericks made me switch to TextMate 2 ... and this was throwing lots of errors.

I fixed it, by updating line one to be:

!/System/Library/Frameworks/Ruby.framework/Versions/1.8/usr/bin/ruby -rjcode -Ku

I'd submit a pull request, but I'm unsure how you want to handle this Dr. Nic. IE: Is there a better fix that will make it Ruby 1.8 and Ruby 2.0 compatible? Do you just want to update this to be TextMate 2 / Ruby 2.0 compatible only now? Or do you want to actually make a separate bundle for each?

Instructions should include how to create path

Naively copying the "install" instructions fail if you don't already have that location created.

To resolve, simply add as the first line:

mkdir -p ~/Library/Application\ Support/TextMate/Bundles

Won't hurt, but would help people like me. :-)
