Get country by ISO 3166-1 Alpha-2

iso-3166-1's Issues

Same country name for Virgin Islands

Thanks, for the library!
We use it on a frontend as a data source of country names and Virgin Islands meets twice as a name which is ambiguous.

The official name of the British territory is the Virgin Islands, and the official name of the U.S. territory is the Virgin Islands of the United States (taken from wiki).

Canary Islands not listed

Canary Islands are missing from the list, they should appear as 'IC' two digit code.

Congo is listed twice

Similar to #9, "Congo" is listed twice which is confusing in select dropdowns.

Possible fix: Rename "Congo" with code CD to "Democratic Republic of the Congo" (see https://www.iso.org/obp/ui/#iso:code:3166:CD)

UN registers 'Türkiye' as new country name to replace 'Turkey'

In 2022-06 the UN accepted a request by the Turkish Foreign Minister to change the name of the country from "Turkey" to "Türkiye". This has been updated in the UN M.49 as well as the Debian iso-codes package as of version 4.12.0.

Can you update it here too? Thank you!
