The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
What do i do?

Two ways to go about this:

1. Profanity filter

   • Can exactly mimic Nintendo name validity checks, for consistency
   • Unnecessarily fascist
   • Leaves things like DDOS by huge post still possible

2. Validity filter

   • Only allow things vaguely resembling pastes
   • Means we have to be 100% ready for (e.g.) new version releases to avoid blocking valid teams
   • More difficult computationally, and fragile
   • Better from a security standpoint

Is there any way to copy the "notes" text of a submitted Pokepaste? I am wanting to update my team but am unable to update the paste as it would be too difficult to rewrite the text.

All kinds of information could be in this - pokedex-style mon descriptions (or even a short one-liner - "OU, Ground/Flying" for a mon, "100BP Physical Ground, hits adjacent" for a move, "Boosts Spe by 1.5x, locks user into one move" for an item, etc.)

I was able to inject HTML/JavaScript via a Pokemon's nickname. Everything user-supplied should be properly escaped/encoded to avoid this issue.

For some reason, U-turn displays as a Normal-type move, when it should be a Bug-type move.

Hello, I want to use this site as a way to store the showdown text. I love how this site presents all the data, it would be great if we can have stuff like accounts to sort through teams and stuff.

Present since ef320ad, since making that <aside> unselectable also stops the auto-copy code from working (and, to make the problem worse, also prevents manual copying).

Hey this is Gross Sweep, I'm an Auth in the Pokemon Showdown RMT room, and I wanted to say I really like the site. We are thinking of making it our go to site for sharing teams, but I do have one concern I'd like to bring up. The notes section is really small. If there was anyway to enlarge it I feel it would make the site perfect. Anyway that's it, and keep up the great work.

Hi. Firstly, thank you so much for everything you've done to create this, I think the community appreciates it more than you could ever believe.

Over my time using pokepaste, I have noticed missing highlights from certain items related to a specific type, whereas other items relating to that same type do have the appropriate highlighting. I've provided two examples here: ice type and fire type. With your permission, I would like to attempt to code a fix for this myself, which I can then create a pull request for.

Basically, this will involve using a hash of some kind, instead of an incrementing identifier.

Pros:

• URLs more aesthetically pleasing, doesn't reveal current number of pastes
• Marginally increased security (however, PokePaste is not really designed to be a "hardened" program, because it doesn't need to be)
• People (possibly more big-name and experienced VGC players?) would feel more comfortable posting teams

Cons:

• Will require either grandfathering current URLs (ugly) or dumping the current URL scheme (destructive)
  • If dumping the current scheme, sooner is better
• Longer URLs; finite number of URLs before we run into collisions

I've been using this fantastic website to create pokepastes for all of my pokemon showdown team.I have 256 in total (spanning gen 1 to gen 7) and all was working fine until today. When I tried to create a new pokepaste for my teams, I get a message saying "502 Bad Gateway" (nginx/1.10.3). I'm guessing this is a issue to do with the size of the pokepaste being generated, since I realised that it only generated pokepastes if I only used 50 teams instead of 256.

Has a limit been introduced, or is this due to excess site trafiic?

Can you please look into this matter?

Pastes can currently appear in search engine results, allowing teams to be stolen.

This is not a major issue, and I wasn't really sure where I could suggest this idea. Smogon has a set of CAP pokemon that are fan made and have been accepted by them (a total of 22). It does have it's own format of play as well on Pokemon Showdown. I know these CAP pokemon are not official (not created by GameFreak) but it would be really nice to add sprites for these pokemon. I know you may have to go out of your for this request, but I'd really appreciate it if you could add support for CAP pokemon.

the best part about using pokepaste is the aesthetic, and this would help a lot with all the aesthetic teams I make lol.

Really minor one here and I don't put you at fault at all (since the Pokemon just released yesterday) but Pajantom is a CAP mon that is finished, and it's something I'd like to see added!

There is no sprite for the Fighting Gem, so a Pokémon holding one has no item sprite next to their sprite. This is unlike Pokémon holding other items, who have their held item's sprite next to their sprite.

Currently, both Fire and Fighting use an orange color in moves.


However, in-game, the Fighting type is represented with a reddish brown color.

This bug makes it hard to differentiate between the two at a glance, defeating the purpose of syntax-highlighting moves (and Pokémon) by type.
