meter's Introduction

This project is no longer actively maintained by the Google Creative Lab but remains here in a read-only Archive mode so that it can continue to assist developers that may find the examples helpful. We aren’t able to address all pull requests or bug reports but outstanding issues will remain in read-only mode for reference purposes. Also, please note that some of the dependencies may not be up to date and there hasn’t been any QA done in a while so your mileage may vary.

For more details on how Archiving affects Github repositories see this documentation .

We welcome users to fork this repository should there be more useful, community-driven efforts that can help continue what this project began.

Meter

Meter is a data-driven wallpaper that displays the battery, wireless signal and notifications in a simple background visualization. It cycles through three visualizations and you can play with each wallpaper by tilting and moving the phone.

Meter comes with an application to enable a NotificationListenerService allowing the live wallpaper to listen to your notifications and displaying the third wallpaper.

meter's Issues

Not working on MIUI

After pressing set wallpaper or setting it as live wallpaper via Nova launcher nothing happens

The shape is too large in landscape mode

As you can see in the following screenshot, the shape is too large and the label of the shape is below the visible area.

Log spam from CellularDrawer

I notice a lot of repeated log lines from CellularDrawable (see below). The Log.d calls in that class should probably be surrounded by Log.isLoggable checks, or removed altogether from the production build.

Example logs:

wifi not as useful as battery meter - option to choose?

Love this, first live wallpaper I've used in years. However, it used to have the option to choose which values you want to display. I had mine just set to battery - it's the only really useful one for me. Since updating, I no longer have the option to choose. I can turn off the notifications mode, but it still shows wifi sometimes which isn't useful to me.

Inaccurate Notification Count

Android Version: 6.0
Device: Nexus 6
Issue: Even when I have 0 notifications in my notification bar it still lists two. In fact it appears to have an offset of 2 in all cases. II, in fact, just saw it turn to 3 when I received a single notification.

Correction: On further inspection, it seems to count ANYTHING in the notification drawer as a notification. It counts my music player, and the presence of Facebook Chat Heads, as notification. Those aren't notifications. One is a quick-control and the other is just a count of how many Heads are active.

Please fix this, thanks. I'd try and help but I don't know Java, just C++.

Force Close

The app keeps force closing on my tablet.

Battery percentage circle

The battery circle is now based on radius (?) I think it would make more sense to make the size based on area instead, what are your thougts? Can create a PR if you'd like 👍

Tilt not working

The feature where the animations move when you tilt the device isn't working on my devices...
