frameless's Issues

New to this - Would like an overview

Hi,

Not sure if this is where this request should go but I'm looking into frameless as a standard for all web sites I create and am wondering if someone can point me to a good resource, or would be willing to teleconference with me so I can get an overview, and be walked through the process. [email protected]

Zooming causes problems in Chrome.

I was playing with Frameless's homepage demo, and found that zooming causes problems.

To replicate the bug I found:

  1. Go to the Framless homepage.
  2. Zoom all of the way in (ctrl + mousewheel).
  3. Reset the zoom back to normal (ctrl + 0).
  4. Notice the lack of margins on the left & right sides of the page, and the horizontal scrollbar.

I tested this in a few browsers on windows 8:

  • Chrome 27.0.1453.94 m: Buggy
  • Chrome 29.0.1525.0 canary: Buggy
  • Firefox 21: OK
  • IE 10: OK

Edit: I just read in your FAQ about the IOS scale bug. They seem to be related (Chrome and Safari are both webkit), and to quote from the IOS scale bug site:

As a result, a portion of the page is cropped off the right...

Edit 2: I can only replicate the bug when the viewport width is 1800px or greater. No bugs at 1799px or less!

Further explanation for Step 3

Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but was hoping someone might further explain the purpose of centering the grid horizontally. We're investigating the use of grid systems at our firm and appreciate the flexible nature that the frameless grid seems to offer, but are still working to wrap our heads around how we would use it. Does the frameless grid concept only make sense when a developer is also using a css preprocessor?
