Remmina: The GTK Remote Desktop Client

Initially developed by Vic Lee.

Description

Remmina is a remote desktop client written in GTK, aiming to be useful for system administrators and travellers, who need to work with lots of remote computers in front of either large or tiny screens. Remmina supports multiple network protocols, in an integrated and consistent user interface. Currently RDP, VNC, SPICE, NX, XDMCP, SSH and EXEC are supported.

Remmina is released in separated source packages:

  • "remmina", the main GTK application
  • "remmina-plugins", a set of plugins

Remmina is copylefted libre software, licensed GNU GPLv2+.

Installation

Instructions for many operating system and building from source to be found here, it can be edited on the wiki.

Configuration

You can configure everything from the graphical interface, or editing by hand the files under $HOME/.remmina or $HOME/.config/remmina

If you want to contribute code:

  1. Fork it
  2. Create your feature branch (git checkout -b my-new-feature)
  3. Commit your changes (git commit -am 'Add some feature')
  4. Push to the branch (git push origin my-new-feature)
  5. Create a new merge request
