Magisk module for installing axet's Call Recorder app

Axet's Call Recorder

This module installs axet's Call Recorder as a system app, allowing it to use the CAPTURE_AUDIO_OUTPUT system permission to properly record calls.

Minimum supported API is 19 (Android 4.4). This module is probably not needed on older Android versions anyway.

Features

• Compatible with F-Droid updates: update the app to the latest version via F-Droid.
• Systemless: this module does not alter your system.

How to use

• Install the module using Magisk Manager (either by downloading the module within the app or by manually downloading a zip from releases).
• Reboot.
• Open Call Recorder, modify settings as desired (you might want to leave "Recording Source" on "Auto"; there's NO need to use root (for "System Mixer Incall Recording") in the app).
• Activate call recording by checking the "Calls Recording" checkmark, grant requested permissions.
• Enjoy!

Module Installing an Older Version

Currently this module installs v1.7.13 of the app, which is an older version. Latest version of the app is v1.8.9 (230) according to FDroid info.

Android 11 Unable to initialize

Hi
I am using custom firmware android 11. Tried several different ones. Using magisk module, with your app. Started having problems with recording. Sometimes the app doesn't work. When making a call "CallRecorder: Unable to initialize AudioRecord" pops up. My understanding is that the app goes to sleep or is pushed out of memory and does not trigger recording on the call. All permissions are given. Work in the background is enabled. Charge saving is turned off. Autorun enabled. Under "About", status is yellow - "Some problems".
Found a chain of actions to get this error:

restarting the phone
Waiting for phone to boot completely axet-call-recorder app
open the dialer and call
I get error "CallRecorder: Unable to initialize AudioRecord" and no recording works.

If you then go into the app, exit \ minimize it - then the recording will work.
I get this error and the recording does not work randomly.
On previous androids (9 and 10) there were no such problems. I asked on the russian forum, I'm not the only one who has problems with the app on android 11.
Please update apk with latest version & additional permission if required to add in permission xmlm

[feature request] update to v1.7.14 (220) of com.github.axet.callrecorder

there is a new version available since 2021-06-01,
the current version is from 2019-11-17.

the changes are mostly cosmetic, there was a filter added to the recording name screen,
few bugs in the file naming were fixed,
r12b dependencies were removed and it uses newer gradle version to build the apk.

I'm aware that f-droid is capable of updating the apk,
but f-droid app is also a total cr^p, and integrating the apk in the installation is the only way it seems to work since updating the app of magisk seems to result with an unusable dalvik cache entry due to how the way normal installation and repeat magisk set-up both work.. :|

Not lauch automatic on reboot (Android 12 & 13)

Hi, and big up for your free app.
on my Android 12 and now on Android 13. When we boot ur phone. we need to manually lauch the app or the app dont record call.
Thank for checking this problem.

Does not always record

The app records very well. But not always. I have battery optimization turned off.
I have no idea if the app turns itself off.
During a call, when the call is not recording, there is no visible microphone icon in the status bar.
I had turned off notification: presistent icon in status bar. But today I decided to re-enable the "presistent icon" and test it.

Rooted Android 11.

App Crashes When save path is changed to SD card

I am on Samsung s20, Android 11, Magisk 21.1.

After CallRecorder is installed, I went into the settings to change the file path that I would like the recordings to be saved to. I chose a location on my external SD card and gave the app the requested permissions. The app would crash and refuse to open again. I have to go into Android system menu and clear out all data for this app to be able to launch again. It saves just fine on the phone itself, just not on the external memory card.

Only my sound is recorded. Tested All source. 1+5T, Android Q, Pixel Experience, magisk 20.4

Ошибка и тихая запись собеседника.

Конфликтует с приложением Google Duo.
Когда звонят мне через google duo, меня не слышат. А вот я звоню всё отлично слышно. Обратил внимание на статусбар, что оно пытается записать google duo звонок, через раз, но записи нету, (вес файла пару килобайт и запись 2 секунды - тишины). Понять не мог из-за чего. Попробовал через шторку отключить шоркат - (запись звонка) и с поймал ошибку приложения - запись звонка. И меня услышали в приложении google duo. Вот с ним - Google Duo запись звонков и конфликтует, то ошибка приложения - (запись звонка), или меня не слышат при входящем звонке в приложении Google Duo. :(
Записывает собеседника слегка тиховато.
