Word Cloud is a visual representation of word frequency and value. Use it to get instant insight into the most important terms in your data.

With the interactive experience of Word Cloud in Power BI, you no longer have to tediously dig through large volumes of text to find out which terms are prominent or prevalent. You can simply visualize them as Word Cloud and get the big picture instantly and user Power BI’s interactivity to slice and dice further to uncover the themes behind the text content.

This visual also puts you in control on the appearance of the work cloud, be it the size or usage of space and how to treat the data. You can choose to break the words in the text to look for the frequency word or keep word break off to project a measure as a value of the text. You can also enable stop words to remove the common terms from the word cloud to avoid the clutter. By enabling rotation and playing with the angles allowed, you can become very creative with this visual.

Optionally you can also use a measure to provide weightage to the text. If none provided, it will simply use the frequency. Check out the formatting pane for more options.

Display Cloud as List

Please add capability to display the words in a list format instead of a cloud format. Aligned left or center would work, maybe biggest to largest going downward.

[REQ] minimum repetition to appear on cloud

It's not an issue but don't know where to propose a feature.
It would be nice to have a way to set "only show words that repeat more than n times" to complement the default limit of 200 words.

I download the "Word Cloud" repository, Migrating to powerbi-visuals-tools 3.x, get error:

how can I change this code?

Add an option to not show any words less than X letters

I tend to use this to analyze large paragraphs of data and many times it will pick out things that are not even whole words. e.g. short acronyms or numbered bullets of paragraphs or other things like that. Since I'm feeding it whole paragraphs, I cannot use a filter for "length." It'd be good to have an option to not show any words less than X characters.

This repo is missing important files

There are important files that Microsoft projects should all have that are not present in this repository. A pull request has been opened to add the missing file(s). When the pr is merged this issue will be closed automatically.

word coloring by sentiment factor

Hello,

I would like to visualize a text cloud of words which also went trough an sentiment analysis (value from 0.0 - 1.0 describing how positive the text is) and use the sentiment to color the words from color red to green with color intensity dependent on the sentiment score.

Does anyone have idea how to achieve this or does need something similar?

Should this work on Power BI Server (September 2022 release)

Can you confirm if this visual is designed to work on Power BI Server (September 2022) please.

I'm getting on odd error when I deploy a report to the server using it.

The 'custom visual' is in the report, if I click the "Edit in Power BI Desktop" option on Power BI Server, the visual displays as expected.

Any advise would be great.

Custom Tooltips

I have noticed in the latest version 2.0 you cannot use custom tooltips. Is this being worked on or something that could be added rather quickly?

Average of Sentiment equals 1

I've used a sentiment analysis tool on a list of phrases and would like to use the average sentiment score for each phrase (which is the actual score) as values in the visualization.

When I select SentimentStrength (a value of 0 to 1 which is the absolute value of positive - negative sentiment %) and use Sum, I get sizes with tooltips that agree with the actual sum for that phrase (see "job" which matches 6.9 in the visual to 6.9 in the data).

When I use Average or Median, the data will show the actual Average or Median, but the visual is uniform and tooltips show the Average or Median on all phrases as 1 (see "hub check" in the bottom right which is a 1 in the visual and 0 in the data).

WordCloud not showing Titles that are too big

Popular, longer titles are not shown in the WordCloud due to the size. This visual should automatically adapt in order to prevent this problem.
How can I solve this issue permanently without having to check & adapt the max size of the titles each time?

Word Breaking Shut Down

When I attempt to turn Word Breaking off, my Power BI app freezes and becomes unresponsive. I have tried this on the online version and the desktop version with the same result.

Visual won't display in Chrome Incognito

We have a Power BI Report that uses the word cloud visual.
The report is published to the Power BI Report Server.
The visual is display when browsing with Edge, Edge InPrivate mode and Chrome.
But when browsing with Chrome Incognito, the visual won't display (no error message, just an empty visual container).
All other visuals are displaying properly.
Any idea where this might come from? Thanks.

Unlock the rows number limitation

Would it be possible to modify the capabilities.json (raise to 30K) and make use of the fetchMoreData() function to unlock the amount of rows that can be analysed by the viual ?
