Hi,

I just open this topic to discuss about this process wich make all the cool stuff of the camera (adjusting image, set Ir, detect move etc...) And the not cool stuff (sending informations to xiaomi servers).

I manage to run the both rtsp and ipc at the same time but sometime it causing camera crashing. In a very dirty way i did a script wich reboot the camera if it crash (TommyChausson@e1dc334) . Ok it's not a good way to do but it "works sometimes" !

I think there are two way to solve our problem :
-> Understand what the /home/web/ipc script do, and do a "fork" of it to make it working cloudless and stop crashing
-> Understanding what /home/web/ipc script use (sesor, library etc..) to make image adjustement and make a script wich do the same job (without cloud).

I've got "limited" linux capacity and i'm not sure how to process...

Is it A good Way ?
Can anybody try to take a look at it ?

Hello! Scratching my head on this one: if there is no motion on the video for the main h264, then I see the RTSP stream stops sending to my Blue Iris software.

The mjpeg substream keeps working, which has me wondering if its maybe a setting with the H264 encoding config for 'test_encode'? Anyone have luck figuring this out?

The hack encounters some issues now.
It was working completely fine back in Sep. However, the APP can not pare with the camera now though the camera itself seems connect to the wifi network (blue light keeps on) and the manual access to the camera IP is always denied.

I tried to use just the firmware in your folder and it worked fine.
Wherera I used both the test folder and firmware, it stucked there and no response.

At first I though it should be the configure parametres causing the issue, but after I used all the default parameters, the issue was still there.

My model is 24CN and I am pretty sure that this model is compatible with the hack as I saw someone succeed in the issues list with 24CN model.

I tried downgraded the firmware to 20160416xxxxx, and then following the manual, but failed again.

I really do not know how to figure this out....

It is dispiriting as I am a programmer....

Hi! Wonderfull project. It saves my camera.
I've installed the hack successfully, I have telnet access and even I've set a Chinese proxy and now I'm able to use my Chinese camera outside of Chine. Lot of thanks.

However I can't get FTP access and I don't know why. If I use a FTP client (Filezilla) I get 20 sec timeout, trying to connect in port 21 as an anonymous user. I've alse tried to connect trough telnet to port 21, trying to see what messages it sends me, but there is no messages.

How coud I continue debugging?

Hey everyone.
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but worth a shot
My friend had a Yi Home camera, and was messing around with the files on it, Not sure what he was doing, but somehow he bricked the camera.
He's given it to me as he doesnt know enough about them and can't be bothered fixing it, so i said id have a look and give it a go.

When booting up the yellow LED stays lit and nothing else happens,
I have tried loading the home_y18 and rooty_18 files on, from various repo's
and just booting without the SD card, but nothing seems to work

At a guess I think he may have modified one of the core linux files and has bricked the internal OS

Is there any way to reload the OS onto the camera?
Or is it only good as a paperweight now?

Is there any chance you may look into modifying the Dome Camera firmware in the future?

I've followed the instructions, unplugged the camera, inserted the memory card and re-plugged the camera back in and the camera just has a solid yellow light. It doesn't announce anything or say anything or start blinking to connect, it just sits with the solid yellow light. Has this happened to anyone else?

Can the chinese proxy trick be adjusted, so it allows US version to work in EU region?
Currently it says "QR code error" while pairing in EU.

Hi, during my tests i "accidentaly" lost my /usr/local/bin/rtsp_server File (by erasing his content...) , can somebody transfert it to me please ?

First off, awesome work. My Yi 2 has been in a drawer since I couldn't get RTSP running on it. So thank you.

Second, for whatever reason, the video image has a reddish tint to the whole thing. I'm using TinyCam Pro to access the camera from my phone so that may be the source of the problem but that's not my intuition.

More likely to be the sensor would be my guess.

Hello, in modified version the Infrared light is not turning on. If I put the camera in a dark room I cannot see anything on it.
Running the official firmware, the camera is really OK in dark rooms.

Anyone else had this problem?

I can't get the firmware to flash at all. I tried the Yi-hack V1, V2, and V3. none of them work. Is this a common problem or has this not been looked at yet? Camera is a Yi 1080p Home Camera.

Can you give us a basic overview of how this is done?

For example, @shadow-1 has given a thorough overview of his workflow for compiling firmware for the v1 cameras -- it would be excellent to have a guide like this for working with the V2 cameras.

So today I have got a Yi Ant 2 1080p camera, with serial starting with 18CN. The firmware inside is 201612051401.

I try to follow the instructions, but no luck. It seems to stuck in bootloader - yellow light only. Then I try to downgrade to lower version, but it doesn't work. Anybody has suggestions?

p.s. I hacked a Yi Ant 720p before, so I have some ideas of what I am doing here. :)

Hello guys, after not being able to do too much with my Yi home cameras 2 I decided to buy the MIJIA and found that the guys handling the modifications (hacks) for this camera have managed to use a rtsp lite server that also has nightvision, they also put webserver, samba, ssh, etc,

Perhaps we could replicate their success here. If there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

I've followed the instructions. Formated the SD card (FAT32), copy the contents of SD folder into SD card, switch off the camera, insert the SD card, and then power on the camera, but nothings happen. The camera start as always, saving videos to SD card as before, but I don't have telnet access neither FTP access.

I have also reseted the camera with SD inserted, repairing the camera with no succed.

What do I missing?

My camera is a Yi Home Camera 2, with serial 24CNxxxxxx. Currently I can pair the camera with the chinese app without problem, and the camera works, saving videos to the SD card, but I can't use Live View, it stucks at 50%. I know I also could fix this with your hack, with a china proxy, but currently I can't even get telnet access, so I think the camera is not reading your scripts.

Hi! I have a Yi Home Camera 2 that was working perfectly with this project.

Some day it stopped working, showing a violet led (blue led and red led at same time). If I restarted the camera it worked again during a pair of hours, and then violet led again.

I tried to update the firmware and now I got violet led directly when I start the camera. Even reset button does not work.

However, if I plug the camera while holding the reset button, the led lit steady yellow and remains this way.

Do you know any way to manually update the firmware in that case? Even if I have to open the camera and solder some wires to update it by console or something like that

I successfully flashed back to the older firmware, but the Telnet/FTP/RTSP services aren't available.

Le flux RTSP est fonctionnel j'ai réussi à le brancher sur mon NAS Synology, je me suis aperçu que l'audio était manquant, en l'ouvrant dans VLC je constate également que ce dernier est peu bruyant :) , est-ce que le flux est censé intégrer l'audio d'entrée de jeu ?

When i use this hack, it doen't save the records to sdcard. Is it just me? Or others feel the same?
can you (@niclet) give me a clue what is the code used by the ipc that save the records to the sdcard?

And also, how to disable the watchdog of this camera?
