Hi Antoine,
is this issue somewhat related to the "discussion" on google group ?

Anyhow, I recently read that it is possible to directly call C++ code in a Faust program: see Sec 3.4.5 "Foreign Expressions" (p31) in the Faust Quick reference. This might be a simple way to reuse the C++ generated code for the PHS core (core.cpp & core.h) and reduce the complexity that the Faust transpiler has to deal with.

Hi!
Yes, it is related to the discussion on gogole group.
The idea is to keep pyphs as a "tool for modeling and simulation (and possibly control in the future) of multiphysical systems", with external modules that would depend on pyphs for the exernal usage.

Regarding the call of C++ code directly in a Faust, it is a solution. The drawback is that we loose the automated analysis provided by Faust for all the C++ code. However, the c++ functions seem to be evaluated only when any of the parameters changed, and we could benefit from a huge simplification.
It is worth to give a try, but maybe after deciding wether to keep juce/faust/latex/etc. inside the main pyphs library.

Maybe we could continue this discussion on google group and come back to github when with a decision?
