This is expected behaviour. The mistake lies in our UG, which states that student number can be edited. Actually, student number cannot be edited at all, and there's no s/ prefix in the command format given in your screenshot. Therefore, the correct error message is shown in your screenshot, which is that the s/ prefix is invalid.

We could explore moving this bug to a UG bug instead of a functionality bug if need be.

Reason for disagreement: In that case, you should specify an error that student numbers can't be altered. As I recall, I was able to edit student numbers. Perhaps you can consider also accepting the bug as a Documentation Bug then since you admit a disrepency between your implementation and the UG.
