layout-trello's Issues

trello list organizer

I have downloaded the chrome extension but every time I click on the icon, it takes me back to your page! I really want to use this trello list organizer. please help

Left arrow not working in cards with extension enabled

Hello, I came here after replying to this discussion on the Atlassian Community:
Left arrow key not working within cards

After some testing It seems that when the extension is active on chrome 73.0.3683.75 the left arrow key is not working. Disabling the extension restores the normal behaviour.

Inpecting the page with the extension active result in the following error:
Error handling response: TypeError: Cannot read property 'classList' of null
in the file: setup.css.js:21:11

layout button quickly dissapears

Hey there,
I turned off all other extensions to ensure that we're not dealing with a compatibility issue, and chrome says the extension is in fact correctly installed and works with this version.

When I load my lists, I see a button appear in the top right corner (looks like the trello icon) but then it quickly disappears... so I can't reorganize my cards...

Edit: a ctrl-shift-r refresh makes the button appear. This fix will work but isn't optimal.

Also thank you for making this awesome thing.

BOARD GRID VIEW - Horizontal and Vertically Locations

Is there not a way to organize your view of boards and cards? Other than Horizontal or Vertical? Why are the cards nd boards not widgets to be more customizable, someone's else visua organization is not necessarily someone else

Macs

I love Trello Lists on a PC and set it up with my wife and mother in law on their macs. For some reason despite apple-shift-R, checking it is enabled in Chrome extensions and rebooting I embarrassingly cannot it to work. Surely a user error but how?

Trello Layout - Feature Request

Please pardon my ignorance...not sure how difficult (or even possible) this feature request would be? Is it possible to adjust this plugin to also allow for the lists to be scalable? In other words, some of my lists may only currently have 2 cards but others may be 15+. Rather than having to hover and scroll, it would be great to be able to adjust the lists to pull down/up to adjust to the size we select.

Any thoughts? Thanks for the consideration!

Mode is not refreshed when changed in another tab

Although the mode is saved in local storage, it is only read when the page is loaded and not watched for changes. This causes the behaviour that the mode in one tab is not refreshed when it is changed in another, until the tab is refreshed.

Can't easily scroll entire page when viewing multiple long lists

Hey. Love the extension. One minor issue I have is when viewing a many long lists in the "grid" view, I may want to scroll down the page but as soon as the cursor hits a Trello list box, it starts scrolling that list instead of the page.

Is it possible to not scroll Trello lists if the shift key is held down?

Greyed out icon

Hi - seems like a great tool, but for some reason when I install it the extension is greyed out in my Chrome toolbar and no icon appears in my Trello. But there is a check next to 'enabled' in my list of extensions.

I tired a few other Trello extensions to see if the same thing happened. Generally everything works fine with the most popular ones but with the more obscure ones I get this same problem.

Any idea what the issue might be?

Narrow permissions requirements ("Read your browsing history")

This extension currently comes with the following warning:

Permissions

  • Read your browsing history

It would be nice to narrow the manifest permissions so this warning is no longer necessary.

Problem

The declarative content script injection is insufficient to catch navigations within the Trello site, because it uses the History pushState() API, so with that alone, the content script would not be injected when the user navigates from a non-board page to a board page within Trello.

Current Solution (webNavigation)

To work around this, we re-inject the content script on chrome.webNavigation.onHistoryStateUpdated. This requires the webNavigation permission to be declared (causing the above warning).

If this old request was implemented, we could avoid this broad warning, but that seems unlikely.

Alternative Solution (declarativeContent)

The chrome.declarativeContent.RequestContentScript API could be a better alternative, but it has 2 problems right now:

  1. It's still experimental, and likely to change in the future, so I'm not inclined to depend on it yet.
  2. It doesn't yet support injecting CSS (although we could work around that by doing it manually via the JS content script).

How to use?????????????

Please add some instructions to the internet on how to use this as there is nothing out ther./

Loss of background image, even after deleting the extension

Hi Natalie, I installed your Trello layout extension, but have found problems. It appears to work well, but it 'blanks' the area with the cards in removing the background image. I disabled the extension and then deleted it, but still the background won't display. It only display in the small title area and in an empty footer area.

I quit and restarted Chrome (version 45), deleted my browser cache and cookies then logged into my Trello account again, but even then the background still won't display in the area where the cards are. I find however that in incognito mode, the background image does display properly, and in incognito mode I can't reinstall the extension. I can change the background, but the part of page with the cards in remains a blank solid colour. This loss of the background is definitely a result of using your plugin. The top half of the title bar with my name and avatar is also hidden

Can you help? Thank you.

Would it be possible for the extension to "remember" how I want the lists displayed in each board?

Hey there! I've been using your extension for some time and I love it--in fact, I don't think i could use Trello without it!

One thing that would be handy, though...could you enable it to remember how I want each board displayed? I have several different boards for work and each of them needs to be displayed slightly differently for the best use--and it's kind of annoying to have to manually click the extension button each time I want to switch it over, especially since I keep it hidden in the Chrome menu most of the time.

Thanks!

More Space Between horizontal Rows

Hi I just got my employer to add this extension for Trello.. Love it. Only question I have 2 rows Top and Bottom. My top row lists will be longer than the bottom row. Is there any way to add more space between the rows so That I can see more of a longer list vs having to scroll all the way down. In that card? Would be a big help if there's a way to do that.

Thanks Love the extension.

doesn't work

clicking the extension's icon does nothing in chrome (@latest version)... icon is disabled when trello is not detected (expected)... refreshing tab causes icon to detect trello and then it auto-switches to enabled (expected), but then when i click the icon when it's in its enabled state, nothing happens (not expected)... my lists do not toggle between horizontal view, grid view (rows), and vertical view. please help

Horizontal, or row layout does not initiate

I am using List Layouts For Trello in Chrome (Version 77.0.3865.120 (Official Build) (64-bit), OS Windows 10 Home

When I click the icon for List Layouts I get three different card/list lengths, but neither of the two horizontal, or row layouts.

Am I missing something? Please fix this issue.

Cant get Layouts to work

Hi. I've installed this extension but when I click on the Extension button (whilst on a Trello board), nothing happens, the ext just gives me the options; "List Layouts For Trello" - takes me to the Chrome Extension page, "Remove Extension," etc.

Also when using this extension and putting lists on top of each other in Grid view, is it possible to collapse lists vertically so that I can get an easy overview of all my Lists titles?

How to use extension???

I'm on my trello board page and when I click on the icon it just takes me to the chrome extension page and it doesn't actually let me use the extension.

List Layouts doesn't work

Hi, I've added the Chrome extension and the icon is greyed out. When I click on it nothing happens. I'm using Chrome Version 62.0.3202.75 on macOS Sierra.

No longer working on Vivaldi

I have been using this extension for many months on Vivaldi, but the next to last release of the browser seems to have broken it, and I can no longer activate it in Trello. Would love to have it back.

Not able to move the lists "under" each other.

I must be doing something wrong, but I'm not able to move my lists under each other in Trello. I added the Chrome extension, but when I go to Trello, I'm not able to move the lists "under" each other. What am I missing? What do I need to do in order to get this to work as I'm expecting? Thanks. Gary

Grid Layout view is not working for Chrome

Hi,

This is an awesome extension, but unfortunately I am not able to set the grid view (multiple column and multiple row) like the one mentioned in this screen shot.
image.

When I click on button, it either go vertically or horizontally in single line.

Thanks in advance

Button is not visible

Just installed this extension in chrome and cannot see the button. Chrome shows the extension is installed and enabled. Logged out and back in and still not visible.

How to implement this extension?

Hi there, I downloaded this extension but I can't figure out how to use it, ie I'm in Trello and I still don't see how I can stack cards vertically. Can you please tell me how to do so? Thanks! :)

[Request] Masonry Card List?

Maybe it would defeat the purpose of Trello but I think it would look really nice to have an option to make the cards fit into place and remove whitespace from list where some are longer than others. Just an suggestion for future releases.

SO EFFICIENT!

Thanks a lot Natalie Perna. What an excellent add on to Trello. Amazing and SO EFFICIENT!

Request: Custom Grid Layout

Hi,

I would like to second the comment/request that Gary Newton made on the review section of the chrome store.

It would be great to be able to customize the grid layout. For example a 2x2 grid would cleanly facilitate an Eisenhower Box decision process.

Thank you for a great app.

[Documentation] Explain how to use the extension?

This might sound a little silly since it seems very obvious once you've figured it out, but none of the docs/description mention how to actually switch between layouts after installing the extension.

I looked at the README.md and I hoped there would be something there that would tell me how to do this, but I didn't find anything.

I finally figured out I need to click the extension's logo/button in the browser chrome to actually make it do the magic. I had to look at the GIFs posted by @spellitwithaph in Issue #25 to figure this out.

Would it be possible to add a how to use the extension for dummies section in the README? Ideally with a gif similar to the one @spellitwithaph posted?

Read my browsing history

Permissions say "Read my browsing history"

Can you please explain what this is? Is it every time I browse anything on my Google Chrome account, it gets sent to List Layout?

Thanks

So how is this supposed to work?

Installed the chrome extension List Layout on Trello's recommendation. Nothing happens. I can't find any instructions. Installed other Trello extensions and they worked fine right off the bat.

The description makes it sound like it's just a toggle button, click it to change your grid from horizontal to vertical.

List Layouts for Trello won't stay stacked

I've been using List Layouts for Trello for years. Suddenly it stopped stacking my lists in rows.

I uninstalled and reinstalled and now it will stack.

However, if I close Trello and re-open, I have to hit the icon to stack the lists again in each board.

In the past, they stayed stacked in rows.

Are there plans to fix this glitch? Or is there something I am not doing on my end so that the lists stay permanently in rows?

Thank you for your help!

Release for Firefox

Hi @sudonatalie!

I think that your addon would be really useful in my daily workflow so I would like to ask you for a Firefox release on Firefox Add-ons aka AMO.

I believe that the user @Gwened has already solved the issue of compatibility in their fork, specifically this commit.

Looks like the only required change was to add the following object

"applications": {
     "gecko": {
       "id": "<developer email here>"
     }
   }

to manifest.json due to this requirement by Mozilla.

The packaging process is pretty much the same as in Chrome.

The addon already installs perfectly in debugging, temporary mode in Firefox, there is only one problem. The addon has to be signed by Mozilla for it to be installable by regular users in the release version of the Firefox.

Would you sign and release the addon in AMO under your own name? Thanks in advance!

Moving lists manually around the grid

So I want to try and create a layout similar to the below screenshot and be able to drag & drop the lists wherever I like rather than them being automatically sorted from left to right (because I want my Projects to line up vertically under each of my Areas). Would it be possible to request this as a feature?

areas projects layout - trello

Hide Lists when filtering

Hope this is going in the correct spot. It would be a great feature to hide individual list if there are no cards in them when the Trello filtering is enabled.

feature request: transpose

Dear Devs!
Is it possible to have the lists transposed?

What I mean by that is something similar like the all vertical layout:
each list header under each other vertically, but instead of having the cards in vertical aswell, they would appear next by each in a horizontal line.
