Team's Response

As stated in the UG, those are designed to show ongoing promotions so that the cashier can validate more easily when a customer claims a discount. We even support displaying GIFs here!

The 'Original' Bug

[The team marked this bug as a duplicate of the following bug]

Promotion list contains random images

Promotion list seems to include things that are not promotions

Their Response to the 'Original' Bug

[This is the team's response to the above 'original' bug]

It is to mark the end of the promotion list and demonstrates that GIF can be added into the promotion list as well. We chose a GIF that will be eye-catching, here's another one for you :"(

โ“ Issue duplicate status

Team chose to mark this issue as a duplicate of another issue (as explained in the Team's response above)

  • I disagree

Reason for disagreement: The other issue is regarding the unrelated gif added at the bottom of the list. My issue is regarding the idea of adding images of promotions as a whole

โ“ Issue response

Team chose [response.Rejected]

  • I disagree

Reason for disagreement: I find that the addition of these promotion images does not fit the target usage correctly. The target users of this app are supposed to be the cashiers of bubble tea shops.

image.png

For one, the main function of this app is supposed to be allowing cashiers to "find and manage [their] customersโ€™ membership information". The images do not contribute to this purpose.

Secondly, the nice images are meant to look attractive to entice the customers. A cashier would not be concerned with the artwork and would much prefer a simple list of items and their prices instead. This would also help reduce the amount of scrolling required to see all the products.

But most importantly, the real issue is that there is no way for the user to customise these pictures themselves. Unless the target user was specified to be a single bubble tea shop in particular, this feature is not going to help them at all as they cannot add their own menu and promotions to the app.

Hence, I find this feature to be problematic in its execution and I don't think the users are going to benefit from it

โ“ Issue severity

Team chose [severity.VeryLow]
Originally [severity.Low]

  • I disagree

Reason for disagreement: This issue is not a cosmetic issue as it concerns how the target user is supposed to utilise the app
