First off, massive kudos to all of you working on the Chrome plugins - you folks are doing an amazing job! 🙌
I've got a tiny issue though. Every time I try to open a PDF, the plugin seems to take over and prompts me for permissions. I'd really love it if the plugin could just let my PDFs be and not ask for permissions every single time. Any ideas on how to make it so that it always just opens the PDF without the prompt?
When enabling the option to activate with a key, for example CTRL LEFT, the tooltip automatically changes to off and even activating it again it does not work when pressing CTRL LEFT
Tooltip Activation Hold Key is not working as it should, could you please take a look?
Can you make it so that when you are in "translate whole sentences mode" the word that you are hovering over is highlighted in a different style?
Make it so that there are multiple languages to reverse translate from. A csv type list would be nice :)
Maybe add an ability to save words.
The ability to copy the translation to the clipboard along with the source text would be a great feature. By pressing the right mouse button in the pop-up window (next to the save translation button, add the button copy translation and source text
Example
"translate me"
right click -> save translate when Ctrl+V
"Traduis-moi"
First, thanks for your work. Would it be possible to add the option to make the text justified? it would also be interesting to be able to change the font and background for better reading.
Make it so that saved words are highlighted in a different color.
It's cool to have a translation history tab but i'd rather save the words that I want.
Now Detect Type options is: Word, Sentence, Container. Would be nice if there was Selection which would translate selected text or if nothing selected a single word like Word
My expertise is in graphics, not coding (although I aspire to code well.) If this extension or another of your projects requires a logo, redesign, or other graphics, please reach out to me and I will be glad to help.
My translation mouse pointer is suddenly getting smaller, the translation frame is too small and I can't see anything, I tried to adjust the font and size but couldn't succeed. Although it has been tweaked, nothing has changed, the translation frame is still too small
hey, I love your extension, it's very helpful. But the lastest version has some bugs or something which make my browser always use more 20% cpu and power usage is very high.
Hope you fix it soon.
I think it would be better to have the OCR as a separate extension or a module that can be installed by those who need it. Currently, I feel that it is consuming plenty of resources, and it is working by default without a trigger key. If this is not possible for now, then maybe it would be better to make it work only via a shortcut, such as for the translation and text-to-speech.
I suggest it by default when Shift is down and the mouse is over an image, the couple of seconds wait isn't a big deal.
Please add support for filtering highlighted words and for displaying words with regex! This would greatly help in filtering out sentences to be translated, and also not show the translation if there is no text in the language to be translated (when titles are not translated and the text is just duplicated in the language from which the text is translated!
and I would also like to see a text capture from the clipboard and a translation output to the clipboard.
Thanks for the great work. I love Youtube subtitle translation feature but here is the issue, when the video is paused and I accidently move the mouse over captions and out, the video is resumed again. Can you please make it remember the original play/pause state and apply it with captions mouse leave event instead of the current behavior?
Since README doesn't contain how to install on Chrome browser, I just tried to load "src" folder and "public" folder using "Load unpacked" button but I got "failed" error.
Does anyone know how to install this on the browser by selecting the folder in my local folder?
Thank you for your excellent translator tool! There's only a small question that has been bothering me for a while.
Say I opened some pdf from the web https://example.com/file.pdf, the url would become chrome-extension://hmigninkgibhdckiaphhmbgcghochdjc/pdfjs/web/viewer.html?file=https%3A%2F%2Fexample.com%2Ffile.pdf
If I want to share this web pdf, is there a way to quickly get the original file url, without manually decoding?
Please add some more translation engines... I think DeepL is the best one for several languages... and make it easy to toggle in the tooltip the engine and the language...
I was hoping to use it in conjunction with Chrome's built in page auto translate feature, so that I could browse normally English sites in a different language, and use this plugin to translate the translated words back into English.
The problem arises from the fact that the auto translate tool translates the English pop ups as they appear, so when I hover the cursor over a foreign language word, it momentarily appears in English, but chrome quickly translates it back into the foreign language. I wonder if it is possible to exclude the pop up translation boxes from Chrome's auto translate tool?
Sorry if thats a little confusing, let me know if its unclear and I shall attempt to clarify.
Thanks
In China, you cannot choose bing for text translation, and the web version of bing web translation can be used, just as this text is translated from the web page,Only a VPN network can be used to translate normally
An option that allows changing the tooltip animation would be interesting in the future. I don't know to what extent this is possible in practice (), but tippyjs offers a large library available as an example.
Thanks!
A few days ago, I completed the Arabic translation and made a commit. However, when I tried to test it just now, I couldn't find any evidence of it. I must have made a mistake, but I distinctly recall making a commit and leaving a note to test the RTL before submitting a PR...
Do you have any idea of what happened? As it is a bit tricky and took me a couple of hours to get it right...
