I've managed to get Camera Live running perfectly on High Sierra, but OBS only picks up sound from the internal microphone on my laptop. I have an external microphone mounted to my DSLR and would love to use it's audio. Is there a known fix for this issue?

I've downloaded this many times (because I read some people had to try 5-6 times) using both Chrome and Safari. Every time I get this message when launching:

“Camera Live” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.

btw: this is from El Cap 10.11.1, if that makes a difference.

No camera is coming up when i connect my G15?

I have my thin micro HDMI cable connected to from my Canon M50 to my MacBook Pro mid 2018 15 inch. The camera live doesn't even detect it. I purchased this cable because I want to go from the thin micro USB to HDMI for higher quality. I have no idea why the camera live is not detecting the camera. I did all of the normal steps as I do each time. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Or I'll have to simply return the cable to Best Buy and be stuck with less video quality.

Does this work with a EOS Rebel SL1? If it does it doesn't recognize my camera. Any advice?

I've tried everything. Camera Live is simply not compatible with the Canon 80D.

I am trying to run Camera Live on startup but have an issue where the camera isn't detected by the application. I have tried to run the application via a shell script that delays the launch of the app, using a launchctl process and even the Delay Start application. However, if I use any of these to start the app after the system has booted up, I have no issues. Also, if I launch Camera Live as soon as possible (less than what I had set the delay to in my shell script) when the GUI loads, it also boots up with the camera connected.

Any ideas on how I can launch Camera Live on restart with the camera automatically connected?

Yesterday I first tried Camera Live on my 5D mark3 and Macbook pro ( Mac Os 10.13.1 ) with no issue at all . But today when I try again , it's not working . There's no video input to OBS although I've repeat every steps many times .
My issue is , after start up the Camera Live app and switch on my 5D mark3 in video recording mode , the liveview screen on camera body will shut down and keep asking me to press the START/STOP button to re-activate liveview again . But , the liveview can't be activated again unless I unplug the Canon USB cable . The Camera Live can detect 5D mark3 when pluged in but keep displaying ' starting ' on top .
There's no issue at all when using EOS Utility with the original Canon USB cable for live shooting .
Do U have any sollution ? Thank you .

Program gives "Camera Error" message when trying to connect a 5D Mk IV.

I get a CPU spike of at least 150% in Activity Monitor when my camera is connected. This causes the fans to go crazy and means that recording video (with audio) is not viable. I'm using OBS and injecting the 5d mk2 into that.

Incidentally, the same happens when using Canon EOS Utility—but only the Live View function, the rest of the app works fine.

Appreciate that this is not strictly an issue with Camera-Live, but any idea why this might be happening or any fixes/workarounds?

My camera appears as "Active" in the app, the camera is powered on and everything, but it's not an option in any apps (e.g. Quicktime, Hangouts, etc.). Is there something I'm missing?

As of v5 we are using a stable(?) but buggy version of the Canon SDK, one bug of which is that cameras don't post a disconnection notice unless a connection is open to them. This is a long-standing bug in the Canon SDK.

A workaround would be to observe USB events ourselves rather than relying on the Canon SDK.

Is this camera supported: Canon EOS M6 ?

Did you try upgrading to EDSDK 3.8.0? I would love to see support for the M50.

EOS M50 is the first EOS mirrorless camera to support remote shooting function.

This is less of an issue and more of a general question. I'm trying to connect two DSLR cameras through OBS for live streaming. I tried connecting two 5D Mark IIIs to Camera Live (opened two instances of it via Terminal in OS X Sierra), but it only seems to ever want to have one at a time. I also tried it with one 5D and one 7D. Anyone have any guidance? Is this even possible?

Did anyone have success with running Camera Live in El Capitain? it does not seem to be working for me. Canon2Syphon works, but i would like to use two cameras.
Also updated the Eos Utility because that did not seem to run on el capitain anymore.
Maybe a general matter of SDK incompatibility?

I've plugged my Canon 70D to the mac via USB 3.0 ... Unfortunately, the device is not detected by the app. When I did use a Canon 1100D everything works finde.

How can I make my Canon 70D working with Camera Live?

Is Camera Live can be use for Canon XC 10 to get the live feed?

Haven't looked into its suitability, but maybe consider ditching the Canon SDK and using libgphoto.

T3i shows a cropped 4:3 image when a 16:9 setting is selected, both 1280x720 and 1920x1080 (seen in both Camtwist and Syphon Recorder).

I came across a problem just now: I wanted to start streaming with 2 camera's (Canon 600D and 6D) from 1 laptop through OBS, but Camera Live doesn't seem to take 2 camera's at the same time. Seperately both camera's work, but when I try them both at the same time the 600D won't connect (it is visible in Camera Live though..)

I don't know what happened but everything was working perfectly fine earlier today. The only thing that has changed is that I have purchased the full version of ECAMM. Now whenever I try to connect to my camera it just says starting.

I got Camera Live successfully working on a Mac running Sierra with a Canon Rebel T5i. I am using it with iGlasses. Thank you for making this software and making it available to the public!

With iGlasses it only presents at 720p. Is this normal or can I get it to stream/capture at 1080 with another program? Do you recommend a different intermediary program besides iGlasses that could work better?

I have an SL1 and it is not recognizing my camera anymore. I just upgraded to the new build, so that's not the problem. It pops up like it's going to recognize it and then proceeds to say camera error and then no camera.

After the last actualization for the mac, camera live sends the message that is not working. Cna you pleas tell me what can i do, i am making facebook livestreams with a canon 70d and now does not work!

Camere Live all versions keep crashing on open.. the window opens for a second and then it crashes...

I had this setup working not too long ago. I believe i upgraded my firmware recently, and now it is no longer working. I also tried updating to the newest version of Camera Live 8. Basically, after I start up Camera Live, I see it detect "Canon EOS 5D Mark III". I click on it, and in the tan status window it displays "Camera Error". When I open OBS, and add device as "Game Capture (Syphon)", I can see 5D Mark III as an option, but there is no vide. I have tried both Video and still live view mode, but there is no video that comes through

Trying to get this to work. I don't know what I changed but earlier I saw the status "ready" - and when clicking on the cam it would say Camera Error. I think that was because EOS UTILITY was running in the background.

MacOS 10.13.3 - but I am about to update to see if issue persists...

This is the first time I'm trying to use your program so I'm not sure if it would work with a previous version (as I've seen you mention in other support threads).

I've updated to the latest firmware on my camera (per your troubleshooting guide) and am trying to run Camera Live 2 (version 9), but it never recognizes my camera.

im not able to understand how this works, i have read the read me and got the camera live to say its active but i cant get a live feed of the camera, is there a way to connect to the Syphon server ?

Running High Sierra 10.13, Camera Live version 7, latest firmware (1.1.2) on 70D.
EOS Utility set to not start automatically.

I start with the camera disconnected and set to video. I open Camera Live, push in the USB. It sees the 70D, and the camera screen shows the little laptop icon. I click the 70D in Camera Live and it says "Starting" for a quarter-second and then the window disappears. About four to five seconds later, I get a classic-style "Camera Live quit unexpectedly" window, with a report button and everything.

EDIT: It works perfectly if there's no card in the camera.

I'm still finding the same issue, though if anyone has special order of operations, please let me know. The list below is my procedure, and typically finds success with pre-5D Mark IV cameras:

1.Downloaded the newest 'Camera Live' (Thanks @bangnoise )
2. Disabled and exited all Canon Software
3. Plugged Camera into USB 3.0
4. Turn Camera On (Idle and Busy for USB connection)
5.1 Open newest Camera Live
5.2 Camera display changes from black, shows computer, recognizes computer connection
5.3 Camera briefly flashes red light for record (though EOS Utility stays red when successfully connected)
5.4 Camera Live status briefly switches to 'Starting' before sticking on 'Camera Error' for Canon EOS 5D Mark IV

Any advice or confirmation if it's working for anyone else?

Looking for a little help? Ecamm did an update today that has caused Camera Live to stop working. Prior to this update, things worked perfectly, even up to 30 seconds before. Not exactly sure what the bug is, but even tried deleting both Ecamm Software and Camera Live and redownloading. (Of course after restarting everything, checking all batteries, extensions, cords, etc.) Camera Live recognizes that a camera is plugged in, but you can't go any further than that. It freezes with the comment "starting." Eventually you receive the message that it as unexepectedly stopped working and wants permission to send a report to Apple. (Additionally the camera goes black and you can't see anything on the preview screen. Unplug the camera from Camera Live and the video function works perfectly.). Any help would be greatly appreciated! Supposed to be broadcasting a live conference! Thanks- Jenny

for over 7 months I've only been able to connect to my Canon T6i ONE TIME!!! very frustrating....
I have Camera LIVE and still nothing

Rebel T6 set on video mode, I have to mid-press the shutter on the camera for it to refocus.

I get "Camera Error" message with my T4i, probably because you're using version 2.10 of ESDK.

There is some chances to have a build with version 2.12?

Recently updated to MacOS 10.12 and the app no longer functions. The problem manifests in two ways, depending on launch order:

1. If the camera is connected to the computer via USB and turned on before Camera Live is opened, the app will not launch and just continually bounces in the dock.
2. If the app is opened before connecting the camera to the computer, it will launch successfully. However, after connecting the camera and turning it on, Camera Live will not recognize the input.

For what it's worth: HUGE thanks for making this app. It's been incredibly useful to be able to use my canon SLR as a web cam without needing a capture card. I really hope it can be updated sometime soon, but understand that bug fixing is a slow process, especially for amazing freeware like this. Just wanted to pass along my gratitude for your work, regardless of whether or not this issue is fixed!

So CameraLive crashes after about 2 minutes of use into Facebook Live. No SD card in camera.

Just spent $100 on ECamm Live, and now feels like a complete waste of money because this App isn't working and it is the only way to connect a DSLR.

This is starting to get f****** annoying now im getting sick of it.

downloaded camera live ver 4. connected camera to usb port. put camera in live view mode. no video. app reports "no camera". Also have Canon EOS utilities installed, and it works in Live View

All I get is a "camera error" when trying to hook up the Canon 80D...
