Ok. I can implement a function to hide the menu icon. It can reappear (so that settings can be changed) once the app is launched again while it is running already.

Well, there is a popup explaining that the icon will remain until the app is restarted.
That makes more sense, for some reason I thought it meant the os restart, not the app restart. In either case though I don't want to reboot the machine often, and I don't want to restart the app either as that causes flickering with the monitors.
I can make it timed though (like it is showing for 15-30 seconds) but that would be frustrating I think as the app is currently solely menu based and some display operations may need time.
Makes sense. A "5 min of inactivity" or something would make more sense to me, but I think simply unchecking the "Hide menu icon" item automatically may work better and be simpler to implement.

Awesome, thank you so much!

I added this one, it's gonna be in the next beta probably tomorrow (or the coming days) along with some other fixes. Stay tuned. :)

All right, I uploaded a beta right now instead. Let me know if it works. Thanks!

It works for me, the only minor thing I'd comment on is that if you hide the icon -> show the app again -> do something -> now in order to hide it again you have to toggle the menu item twice, which is kind of weird. But overall I don't really care about that, the way it works today is perfectly fine for my needs. I think other apps with a similar feature only display the icon again for a few second/minutes or something.

I could autoextend this period whenever the menu is used, but it adds a lot of complexity. So I think I'll just leave it as it is. An other way is to just disable the hiding option so the user has to re-enable it (without the weird double toggle needed). Probably this makes more sense.

I did tweak the behavior in v1.0.10 final.
Please note that the v1.0.10 beta5 had a sandboxing issue which prevents updates from going through. You'll need to update manually to the now released v1.0.10 final. Sorry about this.

Awesome, thank you! I like the tweaked version a lot better.
