Code for the paper "BIOLITMAP: a web-based geolocated and temporal visualization of the evolution of bioinformatics publications" in Oxford Bioinformatics.
This is not a real issue, more a question. I've read the paper preenting BIOLITMAP, and i would like to know if you could share infos or some code about the process you use for institution geolocation cf :
The metadata provided by Scopus was used for the geolocation of the institution responsible for each article. We assign article location based on the address of the institution for the corresponding author, including all the affiliations of all the possible corresponding authors of each article. The addresses have been geolocated using the Google Maps Geolocation API.
Which type of address is used, email or physical ? How do you handle "merge" of all authors addresses for one publication ? etc.
