Is this supported? Cant see any mention of it in the documentation.
That's not currently a supported use case. In general octoDNS tries to unify behaviors across multiple providers so that it's possible to do split authority dns or otherwise change providers easily. That usually means the focus is on ~core functionality that is supported by multiple providers.
That said it does have provider specific functionality where someone has wanted/needed it and added in a clean way to configure it (without causing problems for other providers.)
Have you got a full list of supported features including the correct syntaxes to use in the configuration files?
Each providers has a "Support Information" section in its readme that aims to outline what is/isn't possible, e.g. https://github.com/octodns/octodns-route53#support-information. They aren't always complete/up to date, but ideally they would be. Documentation on the configuration syntax/possibilities is a bit lacking.

To elaborate, PRs welcome. It's not really something that I have a use/case for or that would be generally applicable so I'm unlikely to get to it on my own, but I'm open to discussing developing it on contract if that's of interest.
