I believe they previously weren't supported at all, and now are supported on a provider by provider opt-in basis. The warning is a result of that. Guessing that Route53 needs some testing and potentially minor patching to allow it to handle them.

This is because strict_supports now defaults to True in the latest version, and will explicitly need to be set to False for the behavior to go back to how it was in previous versions.
